First of all, happy late Veteran's Day to all my fellow Americans!

Now then, on to the subject. I am going to purchase the Orange Box soon, because of all the killer reviews it's getting. Although, I'm curious as to whether I should get the Orange Box or Half-Life 2 first. I have Half-Life 1 on my PC already. If anyone's a fan of the series, could you tell me which order the story goes in? For instance, the story in the Devil May Cryseries starts in Devil May Cry 3, then returns to Devil May Cry 1, then finally 2. I want to know so I don't play through Episode 2 and have no idea as to what's going on.

As you can tell by my headline, I'm already excited for Portal! And Team Fortress 2 certainly looks promising.

just get the orange box, that has entire half life 2 series, and opposing force and blue shift for half life one dont have any story advancement.

if you have beaten half life 1 which i supose you have just get orange box, you start off going into a city and then episode 1 is after what happens in hl2 and episode 2 happens due to something that happened at the end of episode 1. so ya it goes hl1-->hl2-->ep1-->ep2

here at the aperture science center, we believe that if at first you do not succeed, you fail.

it goes hl1, hl2, ep1, ep2

Even if you didn't beat hl1, you'll still get the story in hl2 and so on.
