Hello! Wow it's been a while since the last blog - disappeared for a while there but Badgersmuffin and I are back with a new blog! Hope you haven't forgotten me!

We thought a brilliant blog to return with would be one listing our favourite and least favourite moments in TV for this year since it should be fresh in everyone's memory! Since I've seen the current seasons of only five shows I thought I'd choose one best moment per show!

Enjoy! And let me know what your favs were!!

-------------------

Warning: This Blog contains spoilers! If you have not seen the most recent series of Chuck, Pushing Daisies, CSI, Bones or Dollhouse but plan without spoilers to then you may not want to read!

And remember, these choices is my opinion so don't hate

....First a few things I didn't enjoy so much....

CSI - Too much focus on Langston....Yes we know he's Lawrence Fishburne, Morpheus from The Matrix but please does he have to solve EVERY case!? It's an ensemble cast, give Nick, Catherine and Greg a little more screen time - Please!

Bones Finale - does anyone else feel a little cheated!?... Don't promise every Bones fan the one thing they've wanted since the very first episode of the show only to provide us with a pretty cheap trick. The episode was good, but as a finale - not so good! And don't even get me started on the memory loss thing....

Pushing Daisies - so much potential, not enough time... A negative aimed solely at the Network , its annoying that stories had to be hurried and finished in time for the finale. Ned's brothers and dad, Chuck's dad, Emerson's search for his daughter, Ned's feelings for Olive... all were rushed to a resolution or even left unresolved. That said, they did the best they could!

...Ok, lets not dwell of the negatives and get on with the positives(nb: in no particular order!)!

-------

1. Olive Snook (Pushing Daisies - Season 2)

"...It's crazy. It's like imagining us as hobbits. Or on jet packs. Or hobbits on jet packs."

I liked Olive from season 1 of PD, she was funny and sassy but I always preferred Chuck and Ned since their relationship was incredibly cute. Plus Olive's crush on the Pie Maker made her less interesting and anti-Chuck - which I hated. Season two Olive was so much better, funnier and probably the most entertaining of the main cast. She had a lot more screentime away from The Pie Hole, spent more time helping them solve mysteries and had a cute new love interest in the end- all of which helped me begin to completely adore her character. Kristin Chenoweth plays her brilliant, who'd have thought someone so tiny could steal any scene she's in - plus, what a voice! Olive Highlights: Olive as a nun, Pigby (!!), secret handshake with Chuck, "Comfort Food" - every scene, Olive mack (!), and Randy Mann (Aw).

-------

2. Episode: "Turn Turn Turn" (CSI - Season 9, Episode 16)

CSI main characters have been dropping like flies recently (a metaphor our much loved bug-man, Grissom, would appreciate) Fact: CSI Has not been the same since Grissom left or even Sara and Warrick for that matter. But "Turn Turn Turn" made me believe it was possible for the show to live on without them. The story centres around the lovely Nick who is called to a motel where a young girl is found murdered; the episode sees Nick remembering the previous crimes he's investigated at the same motel and the realisation that they are all connected. I loved the episode because, first, it's a new twist to the usual episode storyarc, secondly, it's an emotional episode centring on Nick (all previous episodes as such have been of top quality: Grave Danger 1 & 2, Gum Drops) and thirdly, god does Nick know how to cry!! Now if the CSI writers can just produce a few more killer episodes like this next season they will please a lot more fans!

-------

3. Dollhouse - Whiskey's backstory (Season 1, Episode 11/12)

"...imprint the broken Doll..."

The last few episodes of Dollhouse were fantastic and the revelation that Dr. Saunders was a Doll was brilliant - complete shock! The flashbacks to her past as a doll provided not only a backstory for Whiskey but also for Alpha and how he became 'broken'. I was always curious about the scars on Dr. Saunders' face, and why Alpha had only scarred her but not killed her. So seeing this as his first outward act of violence was interesting and shocking. Although I think, the flashbacks failed to show why Alpha was so obsessed with Echo - we, as viewers, saw throughout the whole season how different she was to the other dolls - but we didn't really see how Alpha knew. Anyway, I digress.... The scenes between Topher and Saunders' were brilliant and left a few unanswered questions - why did Topher make her hate him!? Seeing Saunders walk away from the potential to know the truth about her life before she was a doll is a great sentiment to her character and how important she sees her role as doctor and protector of the Dolls. Amy Acker once again proving she is a brilliant actress!

-------

4. Booth & Brennan's Circus act (Season 4, Episode 12)

A very silly episode but also weird and very funny; I loved seeing Booth & Brennan go undercover again, especially Brennan who seems to just completely let go of herself sometimes when in character. But it's the Knife throwing act in particular which I remember the most from the episode purely for the expression on Brennan's face (one of pure glee) throughout the whole performance. Ok, so the first time I watched it I did so peering through my own hands but that just made the performance all the more entertaining. Brennan's immense trust in Booth is shown often in the show, but mostly figuratively or spoken in 'anthropological terms'. But in this scene is shown quite literally - she places her life in Booth's hands and trusts him completely with it. On the surface it's a wonderfully silly scene with a beaming, one-eyed, Brennan skipping around the stage, but underneath there's a heart-warming subtext!

Couldn't find a video of the scene online but check out the next best thing....a little gif Katherine (Badgersmuffin) made of this scene for me! Awesome!

-------

I've had a massive "Chuckathon" since last Saturday which involved me watching the entire two seasons in the space of about 4 days (Season 1 took me a day to watch ) - before last week I'd never seen it! The show is amazing and I'm so glad I finally got round to watching it On the negative side, all 35 episodes have merged into one mass of Chuck-ness making it difficult to pick out something I loved about Season 2! BUT...I have managed it

5. Casey's 'High C' - Chuck versus the Sensei (Season 2, Episode 9)

Check out the scene here!

John Casey, a big, sarcastic "seething mass of pain" and former choirboy apparently!? This is the moment I went from liking Casey to loving him! Hilarious moment, which caught me completely off-guard, and made me burst out laughing instantly. Chuck and Sarah's reaction are fantastic too! It's amazing how one little moment can make you fall in love with a character, but it is a brilliant moment. One of many for Casey. (Close 2nd place was "Chuck Versus the Cougars" as its one of my favourite Sarah episodes!)

Hope you enjoyed my picks....I've missed blogging...let me know what you think and what some of your choices would be

Yay! Back to blogging... I feel I should mention, the icon and banner are of course awesome And I can completely agree with your not so good moments of TV!

Onto the good! Olive! I loved Olive she was so cute, much much better in Season 2, plus Pigby was the best! I love the pic you have for her and Ned!!

I'm glad you picked a CSI moment I knew, that was definitely one of the better episodes since everybody has been leaving... I think I told you at the time but when Nick started crying it almost set me off! Great choice of episode!

I was definitely surprised about Whiskey's backstory, it was an awesome twist - although as you know, the Alpha story kind of took all my focus for Dollhouse!! I'm curious about the Topher thing too!

Yay for Booth and Brennan in the circus! You know I love this scene, it truly is hilarious, I love her happy skips and and big smile the whole time while Booth is just wanting to escape the danger of it all! It makes me want to watch it again, the gif is not good enough!!

Glad you decided on a Chuck moment for your last one, I'd forgotten that bit actually - everything fades after that brilliant finale! You already know I love Casey so there's no shockers there, although I am very surprised you didn't pick a Chuck-Sarah moment!

Anyway I've rambled long enough, it's fun to be back though right?! Awesome pics - So whats the next challenge?!

Kath - Thank you! Your icon is also fab...very bright! And lovely to see you have a girl for once, brilliant choice

Surprised I didn't have Grissom for my CSI moment - come on I loved this ep, and I'm glad you did too

Aw comeon, your gif is great! Better than any vid I found...Brennan's little skips were the best!

Again, surprising you with my Chuck moment - You know I love Sarah but I HAD to choose Casey - "..I wasn't hatched!"

LOVE your new icon, that moment might be one of my favorite moments this year, I can't decide yet! I'm with you on the whole Bones finale thing, but then again I think everone is I loved Whiskey's backstory too Amy is so talented. But she was the best active right, in one of the earlier episodes they said Alpha was once the best active, because of the glitching thing with both Alpha and Echo. Why I remember and love the knife throwing act: look at David's arm muscles. HOT. him throwing knives that well after just a little training also pretty damn hot! LMAO I almost forgot that Casey moment, awesome!

It's weird having a girl icon!!! You not picking Grissom was a huge shocker! But then thats what makes these fun!

It's so nice to have you back and your new icon is wonderful.

Bones was a big let down, no question. And it was sad to see PD go, it had a lot more potential.

That Ned and Olive picture is awesome!! Loved that Comfort food episode so much. Olive is such a keeper. I haven't seen the last few episodes yet, I need to get that DVD but Pigby was so great! And I did root for her a little.

Oh, and Whiskey. That was soo surprising wasn't it? Great flash-backs indeed. Made perfect sense. And it is so sad, isn't it. "...imprint the broken Doll..." You gotta love Amy. Not looking into her past, that was something.

That circus epi was awesome. Love the gif. Brennan was so child like for a change, I loved that as well.

Choirboy - I already forgot, thanks for reminding me! I love Casey as well! I am glad you missed blogging, I love reading them.

Daria - I saw your comment on Katherine's blog a second ago so I thought you'd like my icon Booth's librarian comment is great! And I couldn't stop laughing the moment I first saw Brennan in the glasses! And glad I'm not the only one who didn't like the Bones finale!

Sounds like you should campaign for more Booth vest/shirtless scenes in Bones. DB looks great in a suit but awesome in a vest

Ela - Thank you, glad you like my icon

Let me know what you think of the last episodes of Pushing Daisies? they are really good! I love Olive's hat in my pic, so I had to choose it - plus Ned's expression is cute!

"...imprint the broken doll.." is such a heartbreaking line, her whole speech is! It'll be interesting to see if she gets curious about her past next season!

Hey. I haven't watched much of CSI as of late, I've gotten quite addicted to Supernatural and it's on at the same time. I really like Laurence Fishbourne so I plan on trying to catch his eps over the break. On the ensemble, I've always felt that Greg gets cheated with screen time, I don't if that's changed any in the past two years. Bones was a bit of a let down for me as well, but not for the reason it was for others. I just started watching Chuck and is on my list for summer catch up as well as Dollhouse. I think I missed the cirus ep of Bones, I'll have to make a point of watching it. Nice icon! Later.....

Living in Australia we haven't finished the current seasons yet and Dollhouse is airing this week so I can't really comment on much

buffyangel4evr_: Greg still gets cheated for screentime! I think he got more screentime when he was a labrat than now he's a CSI! Which is a shame because Greg is great!

Aw Steph you guys are more behind than we are - On the plus side, you've got lots to look forward to

You haven't blogged in like forever! Though I'm one to talk, it feels like ages since I've blogged.

The only show I watch out of these is Dollhouse (I've been meaning to see Chuck though and will probably watch over the summer or something but I have like a hundred shows to watch haha). I totally loved the Whiskey backstory, I had a feeling she might be a doll but wasn't sure but I was shocked when I seen her and Alpha in the flashback being all evil and stuff. And how creepy was it when Alpha just walked up to her and slashed her face? Ouch. And yeah, Amy Acker is an amazing actress! I wish they'd use her more. Oh and I haven't seen CSI in forever but GRISSOM LEFT? I assumed he'd be there forever and ever!

Hey Twisted, yeah its been a while for both of us....maybe you should get blogging too Oh my god, I hated and loved the scene where Alpha attacks Whiskey cos shes the best active - it was such an important moment! But also sad for Whiskey

Yeah Grissom left CSI, only this season though! Its sad, the show isn't quite the same anymore - And definitely get watching Chuck, took me a while to get round to it, but I'm so glad I finally did!

I will, gladly! I actually decided to watch PD as soon as possible (it moved up in my imaginary watchlist to the very top). I wanted to watch one yesterday but it was too late. It's actually kind of fun to take a break from my shows, it's the right weather to do that. Still, next up: PD.
Posted Jun 2, 2009 2:43 pm PT
Yey go Ela! I'm glad PD is going to be next! You have an imaginary watchlist? You should make a real one I made a watchlist last week and have managed to get thru 2 of my shows on there already! Watchlist = motivation!

I've finally watched Pushing Daisies. I am so sad it's over now! They really did a nice job to cut in a little bit of closure but there are many missed opportunities. Rushed, you are right. I loved the look of the last episode, it was really special. How funny was Ned with the huge sunglasses. And an Aunt focus again, I loved that. And Chuck finally came through to tell them... Aw, I am so sad now. Can you still relate to the pain?
Posted Jun 16, 2009 11:32 am PT
Oh my god Ela! You watched the end of PD!! Yey! I'm glad you liked it, that last voiceover was a good bit of closure - you're right! I still feel sad that it was so rushed though but I loved Chuck seeing her aunts at the end, I think it was definitely the right thing to do. Although they could have made it better with Ned and Chuck being able to touch each other but they can't give us everything I guess ....The sadness gets easier! I promise! Just remember all the awesome moments from the show and you'll feel happy again! *Remembering Ned/Chuck plastic wrap hug!*

Hello Elly I thought I would stop by your blog I have the same feelings as you about the ending of Pushing Daisies and of course that was totally the networks fault still it made me incredibly sad, the whole thing was wrapped up in less than a minute. Pushing Daisies will always be in my heart though. I love all the Olive moments you picked out although I have to admit to you now that I kinda sneakily ship Ned/Olive as well as Ned/Chuck, I know I know I shouldn't! but I can't help it! I thought Olives crush on the Pie-Maker was actually very cute although ultimately I did want Ned to be with Chuck of course. One of the tragedies of the rushed ending of course was this was never really resolved.

Whiskey's backstory was probably about the most interesting thing about Dollhouse, far more interesting than dull as dishwater Echo anyway, though I always suspected that she was a doll so it wasn't much a of shock. I thought the whole Alpha face cutting thing was so lame but I'm not going to get into THAT now lol... I won't be watching Dollhouse next season

OMG I totally missed that you are now an official Chuckster! Yayness! I glad you love the show it's pretty hard not to I've got so many favourite Casey moments that I'm not going to clutter up your blog with them but I can tell you that Casey is one of my all time favourite TV characters EVER LOL that picture actually sums up Chuck's and Casey's relationship perfectly. My fave Sarah fight was the one she had against the Triad boss in Vs the Best Friend... her fight with Heather Chandler in Vs the Cougars was my second fave... OK I'll stop now Great blog.
Posted Jun 26, 2009 4:23 pm PT
Hey Jodie! I don't mind you being a Olive/Ned shipper as long as you ship Ned/Chuck in the end It was a lot better in the second season because I always felt sorry for Olive; less annoyed

Its a shame you wont be watching Dollhouse next season, but I guess if it gets better you can always go back to it! I'd agree, Echo was a bit on the dull side especially compared to Whiskey - I hope theres something more interesting in her past yet to come out!

I am indeed now an official Chuckster - completely converted to the church of Chuck (I LOVE your icon by the way - so cute!) When everyone had their little icon campaign on tv.com to get it renewed I thought "Hmm, I might check this show out..." so hey, its partly you that converted me And now its one of my fav shows!! Also love the Sarah fight in Chuck vs the Best Friend (I had to just go back and watch that one!) totally awesome in-car fight!
