Since it's the last day of August I guess it's the end of summer (well I think summer finished sometime in July over here...damn weather) so therefore the end of my summer mission. Badgersmuffin has already put me to shame by the amount of shows she's watched over the summer but here's my original list of possible shows to watch;

CSI (Season 8 ), Dexter (Season 1), Pushing Daisies (Season 1), Heroes (Season 2), Smallville (Season 5 +), House (Season 3+), Alias (Season 5), Reaper (Season 1)

So here's what I managed to watch;

CSI (Season 8 ) - I love this show but I didn't take to early season 8 quite as much as I have other seasons so I stopped watching it before the writers' strike. The rest of season 8 has actually been pretty watchable, there have been some real bad episode (Two and a Half Deaths) but also some really excellent ones (You Kill Me; For Gedda). There were some really good standalone episodes in there too, which are usually my favourite! I'll definitely try and keep up with the show in season 9

Pushing Daisies (Season 1) - This took me three nights to watch, and pretty much by the second and third evenings I was dying to get home from work to watch it. I really enjoyed it, and it also helped that it was nice and short so it didn't drag out. I love Chuck; she wears the most awesomely colourful clothes - also Digby is the cutest dog on TV. I love the theme of the show in the way its shot, sort of Tim Burton but on happy pills - but clearly not a show to be watched when you're feeling grumpy!

Dexter (Season 1) - Took me a while to get through it and admittedly I wasn't as hooked as I thought I'd be but I'm glad I've seen it now. Michael C. Hall is fantastic as Dexter, and his voiceovers add a great likability to the character. Rita is also a great character, her scenes with Dexter are tragicly sweet. I'm looking forward to season 2 of the show but I will probably give myself a break before I get into it!

Friends (Seasons 1-6) - Not on my original list but I've always wanted to go back and watch the whole show in order. I much prefer the earlier seasons when the characters are less ironed out, towards the latter seasons they become more caricatures of themselves. The show is still making me laugh out loud quite often so you can't really fault it as a comedy show. I'll continue to watch it to the end of season 10, but I'll stick to a slower paced viewing as the characters are starting to annoy me a little!

_____

I don't think I'll set anymore TV missions for the moment since its kind of TV'd me out temporarily! But I'm glad I've picked up two new shows in Dexter and Pushing Daisies which was pretty much the aim of the summer - yey mission accomplished! Anyway, looking forward to Bones starting next week!

Mission accomplished, not bad. And you are so right about Chuck's clothes. It's great that you enjoyed PD and Dexter.

By the way: look at you (About me). Nice picture! That's what you've been doing this summer.

Pandacharmed: I will definitely give season 2 of Dexter a go when I can! Its a great show!

mafalada: PD is really awesome and so unique. I wish I could dress like Chuck - great style!

Thanks for noticing my picture! I don't usually look that spaced out but I was a little drunk

Glad you liked Pushing Daisies, it's just the narration that I love the most. I remember them advertising it as a Happy Tim Burton actually so you're not alone with that opinion And of course me with my love of animals, I adore Digby - very cute.

I still have to catch up with CSI but I really don't want to at the moment, from what I've heard it just seems to be slowly but surely removing what I liked about it but I'll get round to it at some point.

Won't ramble on, yay for Dexter and Friends though!

I'm glad you like Dexter; I'm also taking a break before S2. Like Katherine, I still have to catch up with CSI. As for Friends, is a great idea to watch the show in order, and not randomly on Tv like I have. At the moment, I'm watching Joye

Katherine: Yes! The narration is PD is great! I forgot all about it as I was writing my little review for my blog. I guess it blends with the show! I want Digby

I was apprehensive about CSI, as I said above, but its just like any other season really! I hope you'll get round to watching it at some point!

raluka: Dexter is definitely the kind of show which requires a bit of a break between it. Repeat of what I said to Katherine above, I hope you get round to catching up on CSI!

Friends is great in that you can watch it the way I have - in order - or just randomly on TV (like we all have!). Thats the magic of the show!

My mission failed as well: I saw Bones S1, Damages S1, then spent the rest of the summer rewatching Seinfeld

'Tim Burton but on happy pills' That's exactly what Pushing Daisies is! I like that show, but it does make me feel a little bit sick watching it. Its so colourful and cutsey sometimes.

I agree with you on Dexter, its not a show one could watch many times over... plus it's hard to get into intially. Don't bother with Smallville beyond season 5, only watch it if you've enjoyed the past seasons. I love it, but it's kind of an acquired, and at times frustrating, taste. Heroes season two is worth watching but it's a bit crap, I'm hopeful season three will be good -- besides Elle is awesome!

Tom: You didn't do badly! I would say you were pretty successful. And thats the problem with missions to watch shows, you end up watching old favourites rather than the new ones you intended to watch

electricpeppers: I know what you mean about Pushing Daisies, it was a little cutesy sometimes...with the voiceover and the colours and the pies! It can all get a little too much

I will probably stick away from Smallville sadly although I'm still hoping this season will be good so it gives me a reason to drag myself through the awful seasons 6+

I haven't been following CSI for ages. I watched it on Swedish TV a while back but they kept taking brakes and stuff so I never got when it was on or not. Or when it was reruns or new episodes to be precise. But I hear there has been some excitement this last season.

Pushing Daisies is so cute! Really reminds me of Tim Burton also. On a happy pill! It's like visual candy.

I love Dexter! Michael C Hall really is amazing. And the show really challenges you morality.

Friends just annoy me!

PKtechGirl: Oh, I hate it when TV channels muck around with a shows schedule, it really winds me up! Yes, this season was pretty big in terms of excitement!

"Visual Candy" - thats the best description of Pushing daisies!!

Friends can get annoying, its like Pushing Daisies, you HAVE to be in the right mood to watch it!

yay for Dexter and Friends! I agree, Dexter's voice overs make him 10 x's more awesome/funnier.

Indeed. I think season eight sounds amazing, what with all the changes and Goughlar getting sacked.

Season six is my favourite season, but season seven is a bit rough.
