Part three of our Emmy-inspired challenges...the categories this time are for writing (Comedy and Drama) and title theme (overall) Here goes...

THE FIRST AND ONLY BEST-EVER EMMYS (PART THREE)

PART THREE - BEST WRITING AND TITLE MUSIC...

And the Awards go to....

Best Writing in a Comedy Series South Park

I like South Park, I'm sure that's going to lower some peoples opinions of me - its an acquired taste! I'm not always a fan and the humour doesn't always make me laugh but as comedy shows go it's quite politically and culturally driven. A lot of shows are quite satire and tongue-in-cheek but I love the way South Park does it. Maybe it's the way they can be very gross and intelligent in the same scene. The humour on the show has gotten a lot smarter in the latter seasons, obviously it's still obnoxious and crude, but it usually surrounds a storyline which is currently relevant.

Best Writing in a Drama Series Buffy The Vampire Slayer

(Love this pic )

This was a really difficult pick for me, for a while I was going for Bones as it's a smart show with great dialogue. But I've gone with Buffy because it has so much depth; there's great witty dialogue of course, which is a given on any show helmed by Joss Whedon. The characters are always so quick-witted and yes, its kind of unrealistic but who watches a show about a girl who kills vampires for the 'realism' - not me! Past the snappy lines, BTVS also has some wonderfully written emotional scenes and they are always written in a completely unique way (The yellow crayon speech just one example which springs to mind). Its a fantastic show for so many reasons but its underlined by a great foundation of wonderful writing

Outstanding Title Theme Music (Comedy or Drama) CSI: Crime Scene Investigation - The Who "Who Are You"

I absolutely love the theme for CSI Vegas, nothing gets me into an episode more than a cheesy one liner followed by some loud kick-a** rock music. Its so cheesy but to hell with it, I love it! Whats great about it, is that it goes with the show so well, its loud, its brass, its over the top, its cheesy and its shiny (I know sounds cant technically be 'shiny' but work with me here...) - and that's CSI. There were a couple of close seconds, Friends (The Rembrants "I'll be there for you" - upbeat, again, fits with the show perfectly) and House (Massive Attack - "Teardrops"; mellow sounding, but it's not on the end credits and not on some DVD releases).

Lets all relive the awesomeness;

CSI - The Who

Thanks for reading Part four(the final part) coming soon!

Aw, we wrote it differently On the positive side both our Comedy and Drama writing choices match...

I was half expecting your music choice, look at you cheating and putting your nominees in your blurb!

Awesome choices which (for obvious reasons) I can't disagree with. Yay almost Part 4!

Yay, a continuation! As much as I like Bones, I think Buffy was a definite choice. The yellow crayon speech is such a good example. And there are countless others, as you said.

I have only seen bits and pieces of South Park but I liked it, it is so ruthless. I wanted to catch up on an AIDS episode which I heard was awesome. It contains a quote like: Why do I have to catch this disease when all the public love for it is gone - I t doesn't really make me laugh but I love it.

I like the CSI score and Teardrops as well.

Can't wait for part four!

What? No ones opinion of you will lower because you watch South Park, it's frakking awesome. It's a very intelligent series, and it handles recent events very well. It's also insanely funny and has some of the best characters on TV, IMO.

Completely agree about Buffy, amazing show.

I love CSI's theme, so fun. I always sing along.

Katherine - I like the way you did your picks by episode And as you said, can't really fault your choices at all. Oh an one cheat for your million cheats is ok by me

mafalada - Glad you like the Buffy choice in the end, it would have been silly not to choose it! You should watch more South Park, its pretty cool!

tvfan332 - Yey! You summed up South Park better than me! I sing along to the theme for CSI too, only I usually 'rock-out' a bit aswell

Hi Elly! The open credits from CSI are awesome! What do you think of the ones from CSI NY or Miami? As for the writing I haven't seen South Park, but Hush is really good. Like you said, it has some wonderful writing, and it's probably one of the creepiest episodes. The scene with Buffy, Will, Giles and Xander in the classroom is hilarious! Oh, and nice picture! I look forward to the final part. Have a nice day!

I like South Park sometimes... it's wierd. It took me forever to find what was so funny about Family Guy. Personally I think SP is better than FG.

Buffy FTW! I hate the final two seasons with the fire of a thousand suns, if those two seasons didn't exist then it would be my favourite show eva! But not so. BTW I adore your banner.

Katherine - you KNOW you've cheated like a million times since we started these challenges!

raluka87 - I like CSI:Miami's opening credits - they're sooo cheesy! Love them! But I don't like NY's credits, its not the greatest song by The Who..plus I don't like the show!

electricpeppers - I think SP is better than FG, I like FG but it annoys me sometimes. Lol, wow you really hate those two final seasons of Buffy - they aren't the best by far for me. But both season finales are good! Thanks for the banner compliment I couldn't be bothered being creative
