Hey everyone, thought I would post my first real blog for the new year.
So everyone knows, I live in a apartment. The same apartment for nearly 10 years now. I've been happy, I've seen a lot of people come and go. In Fact I'm the longest running resident at the apartment complex to date. I've seen seen every apartment except for mine empty and have new people move in. I'm proud of this.
Than about the beginning of last month some Asian residents knocked on my door and this is the point where I remember all the **** I'm going to tell you about, this is where it all started. So I got woke up out of my sleep after working a long shift I opened the door and there was this teenager couldn't be older than 19. He looks at me and says. "I want your parking spot!" Now, I don't have a car I prefer to use public transportation. Even Though I don't have a car it's still my spot, a lot of people want it because it's closest to the stairs so it's very desirable.
After I said no, he said something in his language to which I said What? and he just left, I don't mind people being foreigners but if you wanted to much to live in our country they should speak the **** language! So that was that, than about a week later I got woke up again by a knock on my door I went and opened it and there was a Chinese person in a suit. His English was perfect he basically asked if it was possible I could move out of my unit. I couldn't believe what he asked, I told him no! I don't plan on ever moving, I liked this unit. Well once again upon not getting the answer they were wanting he said something in Chinese or Asian or whatever the **** the language is and left. I told him if he speaks to me he speaks English, he ignored me and went into the unit next door.
Not believing the ignorance of some people I went back to bed. Now here is where the **** **** started to hit the fan. Since a week before Christmas I've been hearing them pounding on the wall, the first day I was ok with because they could possibly be putting up pics so it didn't bother me. I had a friend staying over and she said the minute I went to work the pounding stopped, but when I came back at 2am guess what? the pounding started back up. I have the ability to be very patient so I went to bed and when I woke up I would go to do my morning business in the bathroom I would turn on the vent in there and the pounding would start up.
Suffice to say the pounding has been going on for several days than came New Years Eve, I went and bought me a huge steak and potatoes along with a salad I had to turn on the vent in the kitchen because of the smoke, I turned on the Vent and the banging started. By this point after almost 2 full **** weeks of this I finally had it I went over there and pounded on the door, this old **** opened the door, I told her that I know that her, and her company are banging on the walls and it's getting annoying to stop doing it, or I will report them. Of course did she speak English? No she said whatever it was knowing I didn't get anywhere I was going to have to report them, I don't like reporting anyone because it could mean that they get kicked out of their unit. But I didn't really have any recourse left.
Now keep in mind that when we move into our units we are given a list of rules that we are suppose to follow, one of the rules are that we can't leave anything on the send floor walkway, it presents many hazards. So after me reporting them, the people next door decided to pull a new stunt. They now put their shoes outside along with their garbage for hours at a time. they always seemed to do this either when I'm getting off from work or going to work, so I have to step over the crap so I figured I would deal with this, the only way I know. War!
So yesterday I've decided to take my war to them, I'm doing everything that wouldn't get me kicked out, for example they had a party last night that was going on all night so I looked out my front door and sure enough there was a huge pile of shoes, must have been about 14 pairs there. I thought it would be time to see if I still had my old soccer kick in me, so I took my time and I lined all those shoes, sandals, flip flops and boots up, I than let them have it I turned those shoes into **** footballs, soccer balls anything that could be kicked I turned them into that. What are they going to do report me?
If they reported me they would get in more trouble because they are the ones breaking the rules, and besides no one saw me it was **** 1:30am. This morning I got out of bed about 8am and prior to getting on XBL I looked out my door, surely the shoes were all picked up but this time there was 3 bags of garbage on the walkway in a nice pile. This garbage stunk like hell so, I thought I would do my good deed for the day. I've been keeping track on what cars belong to the unit next to mine. Believe it or not they have 4 cars, 3 of their cars they've convinced others to let them have their parking spots and the last in the "Guest Parking" area. I know the guy who lives next door if fanatic about a certain car, it's a **** blue car that's been done up to look real nice.
So I picked up each and every one of those bags of garbage and I put them on the hoods of 3 of those cars, I don't care anymore, they wanted a war they now have one. As of right now I haven't heard any noise but I'm sure something will start up. All I wanted was some piece and quiet along with not having to deal with a load of **** on the walkway. Let this be a lesson to everyone, please be considerate of your neighbors you may never know when they may go crazy.
A Side note, I asked one of my friends in the apartment complex about what is going on and she said that she was asked by the same guy if she wanted to move out, come to find out they are trying to force out people so they can get their family members in. This would explain why they are doing it. All I can suggest is if you ever find yourself in a position like this, don't give up just fight back.
Wow, this year has seen some major releases some of them were major winners and some of them were major bombs, here is my list of the top ten gems of 2008. Now keep in mind that this is just my opinion, I thought I would post my opinions about the best games I've played this year. This is Part 2 of 2, Lets start with the list shall we?
#10 Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution (XBox 360):
Wow, I never really liked history in school but playing this game made me wish that I could have gone back and learned. This is a perfect example that a turn based game could be successfully ported to a Console that isn't over 10 years old. It may take awhile for you to fully get into it but once you do it'll become second nature when you play it. A perfect example of a game that hit everything right.
#9 Battlefield: Bad Company (XBox 360):
"Welcome to Bad Company" When your told this you should be smart enough to know that your not going to be the best of the best. That's what made this game so great it's the fact you do things that are questionable that made it so good, Now I'll admit I didn't play the multi player but I heard it's fun. The two things that really pulled me into this game was the griping storyline and the huge destructible environments. If you don't want to use a door, blast the wall and go in that way, nothing more enjoyable than causing mayhem on a huge scale like that.
#8 Fable 2 (XBox 360):
I'll be honest when I was making my top 10 lists this game was originally slated to be on the bombs list, because quite honest, I didn't want to play the same concept I was hoping somehow they would have put the game into a modern setting with cities and everything. When I got this game I was so let down but upon taking time to think about it, it did have some saving graces, the story was perhaps better than the original also the visuals were up ed and the fact you can customize the spells to use different combos made it a huge safe for this game. I hope they advance the time of the game when they release Fable 3.
#7 Army of Two (PS3):
You take a game that's similar to Gears of war, but instead of 4 you only have 1 other person, and to top it off no backup besides him. Can you last? this game will make you ask that question, you play as two officers who get paid for their jobs, the best part of this game is the customization you will customize everything from your weapons to your costumes. There is also something called a Heat system you can use it to have the enemies attack your partner while you go and flank, which is a awesome idea. The story is good and I have to admit their contact sounds hot a solid #7 for this year.
#6 Front lines: Fuel of War (XBox 360):
Now I know a lot of people panned this game, but I'm not one of them. I personally loved this game the concept was so unique I never seen anything like it. "What if the world ran out of oil and everyone was fighting over the last major deposit left?" That's what this game is about and I'll be honest earlier this summer when gas prices were hitting $5.00 a gallon I could have honestly saw that happening. It's not as glossy as other FPS's but the fact is it was original in my eyes, also I never played multi player on this game but I heard you could have up to 50 people on it, if I remember right. If that's true than how many games could do that? Lets add in the fact that this game you could use RC Vehicles to scout and attack. And for all this it gets the #6 spot this year.
#5 Grand Theft Auto 4 (PS3):
I'll Be honest, I was kind of let down by this game. It wasn't as in depth as GTA:SA was and to top it off it just seemed to be the same ole, same ole again. Granted it has Multi player but when you don't have a freaking blue tooth headset than it kind of makes it impossible to play. Overall it's a ok game but Rockstar is starting to get Stale they'll need to really do some major upgrades next few games or this series will start to bomb. I'll be honest I wouldn't mind playing GTA 3 or GTA:VC or even GTA:SA if it had the same kind of graphics this game had.
#4 Gears of War 2 (XBox 360):
This is a good sequel to the series, it closed up a lot of endings but the way it ended it also opens up a lot more, the multi player was ok, nothing to really rave about. I did like to play Horde that was awesome, the game also started to delve into the characters, mainly Dom and Marcus but that's ok, Baird and Cole are great side characters but you care about the main two. I can't wait for the sequel.
#3 Resistance 2 (PS3):
Oh my god, now this is a game that really pulls you into the action, you could get a feeling that Humanity was about to be wiped out if it wasn't for the courage for your character, you could litterly see your character start to change between your eyes as he struggles to save the human race. This is one of the few games where I felt so attached to the character mainly because you could really feel that Humanity was going to end. I hated the way that they ended this part of the story but it always opens up for more games.
#2 Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (PS3):
There is a question in this game, it's: "How far would you go to protect your country?" in this game we will see how far Snake will go to protect the people. Even Though he's growling old it still shows that old dogs still have teeth and he's the perfect example, when the world is falling apart at the hands of a madman and you don't think Snake can't continue he does. This game has everything, to top it off it has a top of the line ending. I'm not sure if they plan on continuing this series but if they do I can't wait to see it, if they are perfect like this game.
#1 Fallout 3 (XBox 360):
Wow, now this is a game that....Wow where to start, the game was perfect all around everything from Storyline, to voice acting and to the biggest thing...Graphics. when you first leave the vault and you see DC your mind is blown I didn't think anything could ever look this great. This game makes that possible. I don't think that I could say enough to show how great this game is so I'll just stop. I'm going to let you see why I've spent over 200 hours playing this game and it never gets tiring.
This is my top ten list for Bombs and Gems the year of 2008 I hope you like it. And I can't wait till 2009.
Wow, this year has seen some major releases some of them were major winners and some of them were major bombs, here is my list of the top ten bombs of 2008. Now keep in mind that this is just my opinion, I thought I would post my opinions about the worst games I've played this year. This is Part 1 of 2, the next Part will be the top 10 list of games that were jewels. Lets start with the list shall we?
#10 The Incredible Hulk (XBox 360):
Wow, where to start with this game. It's a known fact that Movie based games suck, but I keep hoping that one day a game will come out that's worth it. It's been proven that a good movie based game can be made, case in point. The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay. The concept was good, put the Hulk in a GTA open environment and it should be perfect right? WRONG! This bomb had so many things wrong with it but since this is a blog and not a review I'll keep it short, the hulk handles like a freaking Sherman tank that's had too much booze. To top it off they give assaine missions for him to do. So this was a typical failure of a movie adapted game.
#9 Turning Point (PS3):
Nazis invading America, your job is too fight them, how could they **** this up? Glitches up the ASS! this game is balls! I was getting shot and killed through things that shouldn't have happened, granted I could see some surfaces but when a bullet goes through several floors of steel and it still kills me, than we have a problem. I had high hopes for this game, and this is just one of many that proved to let me down this year. Lets also not forget that it seems the good guys AI sucks whereas the Nazi's AI are spot on, not fair at all.
#8 Haze (PS3):
God, I can't even remember this game, I guess I'm left in a Haze.
#7 Turok (PS3):
Now, here is a game that I thought would be a excellent relaunch of a series, I remember sitting in my bedroom back in 1997 playing this game, it was a perfect blend of action and Dinosaurs. So how the hell could they make this game wrong? Easy, they didn't revolve around enough of shooting dinosaurs, your after a prisoner, that's ok but I wanted more dinos to kill. Another problem with that I didn't talk about in Haze or Turning Point, is that the PS3 isn't the best console for FPS's the controls were too messed up even to save this game.
#6 Lost: Via Domus (PS3):
This isn't a game that's bad per say, it's just too short, I mean damn short. When I spend $29.99 for a game even though it's a budget title I expect more than afew hours of play, the game was gorgeous besides that. The voices and visuals were spot on it's just the game was too short. Even by Budget standards.
#5 Call of Duty: World at War (XBox 360):
Yes a successful sequel to COD 4....Wait NM that's right lets not have the group that made the Acclaimed COD 4 make this game instead hand it off to another group (That I never heard of) and lets ****ing go back to WW2, granted people have a hard on for WW2 but why in gods ****ing blue balls ruin the flow by going back to ****ing WW2? Damn, I don't want to ****ing fight Nazis anymore, I want to ****ing fight terrorist. The game's also got more bugs than.....I'll let you figure something to finish that. What I view as the major insult to COD 4 is they had the gull to clone the multi player of COD 4 for this game. So in essence they raped us. "Your not going to get a superior sequel to COD 4 but we'll make a laugh out of your Multi Player." I'm ****ing glad that they announced COD Moder Warfare 2 is coming soon, that way we can ****ing digest and **** out the memories of this bomb of a game.
#4 Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (XBox 360):
Yet, another Bomb that had high hopes. I remember seeing E3 videos of this game and how you could do all this awesome stuff, hell I remember seeing the commercials and how you could rape huge groups of Wookies, instead we get this. This is the golden rule that you should rent before buying. It seems this game was rushed and it's final product was a Clear example of it.
#3 Enemy Territory: Quake Wars (XBox 360):
Need I really talk about this game? I'm sure everyone knows how much it sucks.
#2 Lego Batman (XBox 360):
I've played all the Lego Star Wars games and after playing those games, this one just seemed to be a huge **** up. I couldn't play it. The gamed seemed to be so complex it ruined all fun I had.
#1 Farcry 2 (XBox 360):
I've been waiting for this game since the original XBox. I knew it wouldn't have the same Animal Hybrid theme but that was ok. What we got was a good storyline but the rest of the game goes downhill too fast. It takes forever to get to your missions and the map was too small. There is a realism about used weapons breaking down but my god this game took that too intently I couldn't fire a ****ing weapon without it jamming up, whereas the enemies had no problems with it. Does that sound fair?
As I stated before these are just my opinions, I know that people don't agree. I just hoped to get my opinions out about them. Here's looking to the new year and a huge list of anal leakage games to come.
