That sucks man about getting layed off. I would think people would be drinking a lot more in this economy so bartenders would be needed.

@lazyhoboguy: I know. People say that to me all the time. But the truth is, going "out" is disposable income, and that's where people are cutting back the most.

layed off? what happened? it's a recession, bar business should be booming!

@polsci1503: Well, disposable income (which is essentially what the bar business boils down to for most people) is at a 50 year low for most of the public. So, since it's slower, much slower everywhere, hours and shifts were cut. ALOT. And people in my bar have been there much longer than me (15+ years). So they cut me out of the picture for 6 weeks. But I recently got 2 shifts back, which is better than nothing I suppose.

With my equally long absense it's like you never left so it's all good Sorry about the job but hey, at least you have something to go back to.

This is like a coming back week or something. Congrats on the layoff!
