Well Nintendo's done it.

They pulled the wool over everyone's eyes. Suckered them all into investing in the Wii this generation and then pulled the rug out from under everyone who they fooled.

We shoudnt be angry, it's just how their "kind" operates.
You know their "kind" don't you?

A developer who knows that they can fool people into buying whatever they throw out just because of a name on the box.

Usually this is reserved for companies like Capcom, now it's Nintendo.

In the past Nintendo has been respected. As being one of the best developers and publishers with so many franchises followed by millions, they COULD have released anything but they chose not to. Their games all had a level of care and polish not seen from anyone else in the industry.

Their new games might take a while but you always looked forward to their new titles because they were going to fantastic.

Nintendo has decided that users don't want games in 2008 and 2009, instead they want to play all the Gamecube games again. They want it's users to go back to 2001.

Oh and they don't want to just PORT the games over. No, that would be silly. They want to tack on new control schemes! If it's one thing the Wii desperately needs it's MORE last gen games with tacked on controls. Shoddy looking games with controls never intended for the game? Where do I sign up???

Now I know some of you are having a hard time understanding that Nintendo pulled the wool over your eyes and you're going to try to make yourself feel better with the next sentence...

"Nintendo has rereleased games before, lots of times"

Here's where I crush your last shred of hope.....

Games like "Link to the Past" HAVE been rereleased but there's one major difference.

The game was always rereleased on a platform that could not play the other version. That means if you bought the SNES version and you want it for the GameBoy Advance you can't stick the NES cart in your handheld. If you have a Wii that's not going to take that SNES cart either.

Nintendo is rereleasing Gamecube games.
Just to point this out, the Wii plays every single Gamecube game ever made. The insides of the Wii hide a Gamecube. There's no software emulation, no code to be written, nothing, nada, zilch. The hardware is Gamcube hardware. Put in a Gamecube game and you have Gamecube hardware playing that game.

Nintendo knows it can make money though. Never mind the fact that they make profit on the Wii and the DS. Never mind the fact that their first party games are already huge sellers.

Nintendo knows it can fool it's base into getting old games just because it has the name Nintendo slapped on the front of the case.

Nintendo is also doing this with the Gamecube. The worst modern day console and one of the worst consoles of all time. A console with such a sucktacular library and hardware that it forced Nintendo to change everything and make the Wii.

The Gamecube was such a huge failure that Nintendo had to change it's strategy or stop making games. So of course what all gamers want to do is revisit this generation of fail.

Maybe this is Nintendo trying to make up the money it lost last gen with it's awful hardware and game support. Maybe they think they can sucker enough people to finally make the money they thought they'd make last gen.

Another thing people are going to say is this.....

"You don't have to buy the remakes"

Oh, did a little glimmer of hope pop up that I didn't crush earlier? Let me get that.....

Nintendo is using time and money making these games. They're using time and money that could be going for new games and putting them towards old games. Nintendo doesn't use it's low level guys for anything, heck Nintendo doesn't even HAVE low level guys. If you look at the history of Nintendo rereleasing games on different platforms they are all polished and have problems fixed. Once again I'll bring up "Link to the Past", the rerelease on the GBA was more polished and fixed flaws that were in the SNES version.

So yeah, the guys who SHOULD be making new games? They'll be busy making the old ones.

Nintendo already has your money since you bought a Wii so you helped their market share. They fooled you into thinking that they were going to support you and they failed you. Not only did they fail you but now they're insulting you as well by trying to show off the fact that you can do everything you did last gen all over again. The Wii isn't a whole new way to play games, it's a whole new way to sucker people.

I wish I could tell all of you I told you so but the sad fact is they suckered me too.

While I don't share the amount of disdain you have on the issue,I do agree that the idea of GC re-releases is simply unnecessary.Honestly,I'd rather play the original Pikmin using the controller it was intended for.

I agree with VG.

Releasing the best gamecube games of last gen on a more popular platform at a budget price is not dumb, nor is adding wiimote support and 16:9

What's dumb is a Rayman Raving Rabbids fanboy painting himself as a gaming expert and criticising a pretty smart decision

Lets all whine about something, it's obviously wrong for a company to want money.
Posted Oct 4, 2008 10:04 am PT
...did you just say LTTP is for the NES? But i do agree that GC games on wii is completely UNNECESSARY. The last time i went to EBgames i found all the games they are re-releasing for 10$! Knowing Nintendo, we are going to have to pay $20 or even 30$!

no it hasn't

Good call 562, forgot the S

I agree and another thing remember when miyamoto was saying how "we're working on pikmin" well... could he have been talking about the pikmin 1&2 wiimake instead of an actual sequel??? DUN DUN DUN.

I dislike GC remakes too.
Posted Oct 4, 2008 12:16 pm PT
even though your playing Demosthenes here but I would pay money for your blog posts!!!
Posted Oct 4, 2008 12:26 pm PT
and they don't even do remakes that would be awesome like Majoras Mask DS!!!
Posted Oct 4, 2008 12:27 pm PT
I'm sorry..I must've missed the point in the conference where nintendo said they were releasing NO NEW GAMES from now on.
I suppose Punchout, sin and punishment 2 etc do't exsist in your mind
Posted Oct 4, 2008 1:13 pm PT
Shino.
They showed 2 new games.
They showed 7 old games (and that's just the start)

That is not a ratio anyone should be pleased with
Posted Oct 4, 2008 1:44 pm PT
Nintedo's developers are making those remakes, but I doubt it would take too long to put the game on the wii and "tack on Wii controls". Definately not as long as games usually take for them to make. So while you may be overreacting a little, I definately see your point. You should make another blog about the DSi. I'd like to hear your opinion on that one.

It's sad but you're are right....*sigh* when I saw that they were making re-makes of Gamecube games I was like: "wth is wrong with you Nintendo!!? why are you making games for the Wii that are already on the Gamecube with new controls that will just suck more? now you won't have any time to make any good NEW games!!!" Where did the REAL Nintendo go? And like you said, the Wii can play Gamecube games... omg! so why are they doing this? They are doing this so they can get all these little boys and girls who never owned a Gamecube to buy them so they can get Money! yep MONEY!!!" Nintendo your killing me.
Posted Oct 4, 2008 4:07 pm PT
Yeah, Nintendo has failed since some time ago.
Posted Oct 4, 2008 5:24 pm PT
Wait, a company wants money!?!?!?!
What is the world coming to these days...
Posted Oct 5, 2008 11:41 am PT
Reason i sold my wii is because of all the damn ps2 ports. Whats the point its like goin back a generation
Posted Oct 5, 2008 1:53 pm PT
This only becomes more evident when you play another console designed for this generation. They did pick some of the best games from the GC, unfortunately I already bought them and at this point could care less about the remakes.

It seems like the only company that did BC right this gen is screwing it up by forgetting they put it in already.

Between GC remakes and having to play Miyamoto's hobbies instead of games just makes me happy I have a real console.

Although I agree with you, you're a little too intense for me .
Posted Oct 5, 2008 2:56 pm PT
You make a lot of sense, but I misse prime 1 and RE4(I only had a g last gen strange).
Posted Oct 5, 2008 3:12 pm PT
Kensax

Cosmic Walker

Spawn Smasher

Dynamic

Takt of Magic

Line Attack Heroes

Trace Memory: R, Gateway of Memory

Sin and Punishment 2

Punch-Out!

Endless Ocean 2

There are more than just "two new games announced"
Do some research.

Jakendo, only 2 games have dates in North America.

Unless I have dates they're not games. They're just promises that they'll eventually come, same thing Sony suckers their users with. Enough with Nintendo's lies.
Posted Oct 7, 2008 5:21 pm PT
lmfao yu changed yur pic after wat blushield said lololol yea yur not a very good gaming expert
Posted Oct 9, 2008 12:40 am PT
who cares just play your 360 if you dont like the wii dont play it you dont have to whine about every little flaw about something no system is perfect i liked some games on the wii and i didnt like some games on the wii you dont see me whining about it
Posted Oct 9, 2008 1:39 pm PT
Now I know you are having a hard time understanding that Nintendo announced more than 2 games and you're going to try to make yourself feel better with the next sentence...
"They dont have release dates in North America, they dont count" Here's where I crush your last shred of hope..... The GC remakes were announced in Japan. There has been no release dates for North America. Using your logic there are not actually games. Therefore your argument is flawed. And if you do live in Japan and they force you to buy every GC remake there, then I feel really sorry for you.
Posted Oct 9, 2008 6:38 pm PT
Jakendo, not only are you helping push Nintendo's lies but you're adding your own now.

Development on Nintendo games mean that Nintendo is working on them. That's why games like Captain Rainbow are such a kick in the groin for North America. The idea that games in Japan don't impact games overseas is just false, or a lie.

I completely agree with this blog. Nice job Jaysonguy. Nintendo has failed most hardcore gamers out there. They have a whole selection of IPs and they choose one of the most simple games. Punch out. Punch out was good back then but now it will fail. I used to love my WII and now it's a antique that catches dust everyday. I'm starting to like the PS3 more now.I probably contributed more hours into the PS3 than the WII and I had the PS3 for a shorter time. I'm tired of saying the WII will come back in 2009 but that won't happen.
Posted Oct 12, 2008 7:15 am PT
I agree one hundred and ten percent. I've said it once and I'll say it again; Nintendo fanboys piss and moan about the PS2 ports with added waggle that completely hammer the Wii, yet if it's okay if it's a GC port with added waggle. Which is even more pointless.

Anybody who thinks this is a good decision is a damn r*t*rd. As Jaysonguy said, why not spend the money that's being wasted on these Wiimakes on the next Mario or Zelda we've been promised?
Posted Oct 12, 2008 2:20 pm PT
I agree with you Jaysonguy. While I do disagree with you about the Gamecube, which I think was a good system despite it's shortcomings, I feel that this is just the same old Nintendo we have been dealing with for a decade now. You know my opinions on the matter, so I really don't need to write it down here. ANyways, I'll continue using my Wii for Gamecube games, and the occasional virtual console title, but I don't plan on wasting $50.00 on another new Wii game or peripheral unless it blows my mind.
Posted Oct 13, 2008 7:34 pm PT
haha stop whining you priss, you say this all of the time no one cares..
