Dearest TV.com users,

After two and a half years exchanging PMs, forum posts, and blog comments with y'all, it's time for me to bow out. This Friday, June 26th, will be my last day as Community Producer for TV.com.

It's been a long, strange road in getting here. In this, my first "real" job, I learned so much through the bumps and triumphs (oh and this one) alike: about working for a large corporation, about working for an internet site, and about the idiosyncratic aspects of both that only apply to TV.com and make this the unique place that it is. All of you have contributed to making this a memorable and formative experience, and for that, I heartily thank you.

While my life will be changing dramatically in the next few months (more on that in a bit), life on TV.com will carry on as usual. All the mods whose awesome support keeps the wheels turning when we as staff can't be everywhere, are, as always, here to answer your questions or to guide you in the right direction. Danmod and nilla_chelle01 continue to be here as full-time staff, and you already know how awesome they are. They've contributed to my time here in innumerable ways, and I would be remiss to not acknowledge my gratitude to them publicly. Danmod and nilla, THANK YOU!

As for my plans... well, let's have a last little bit of fun, shall we? Where do YOU think I'm headed next?

1. Moving to LA to work for Hulu.
2. Moving to Washington, DC to go to grad school.
3. Moving to New York to work for a media non-profit.
4. Traveling wherever my passport will take me as a freelance food writer to gorge on delicious food to my heart's (and stomach's) content.
5. Technical glitch erases my existence on TV.com. They've filed a bug and will be working on reinstating me when they can. In the meantime, I will bide my time neither here nor there.

Let me know what you think I'm doing next, then check back on Friday for the real answer!

Thanks for welcoming me into this world known as TV.com for the past few years. See you around the interwebz!

I suppose I'll guess that you're going to grad school. Good luck, and thanks, you were a community manager through some pretty tough transitions - I hope the wounds heal.

I can tell from the pictures you bring back from vacation that you are a gourmand, but I'll guess you're moving to NY to work for a non-profit. I wish you all the best.

My vote is for number 4 with me tagging along!! Good luck, whichever option it is!

You were a very helpful and nice staff member here on this site. you always kept us up to date. But alas, life must go on and so must you. Best of luck in your future endeavors. I sound like a WWE copy/paste things.

I vote for 4. That seems to be the best bet for me.

We're gonna miss ya, Jaxie. Thanks for all your hard work and putting up with us. Best of luck wherever you go next!

I'll vote for #4, too. Sounds like the best option to me.

You have been wonderful and you will be missed :}

I think you are going to work for a non-profit. Good luck on your future !!!!!

I guess number 1, good luck anyway.

Here's wishing you the best of luck where ever you find yourself. Thank you for all your hard work. With all the bugs we have had on this site I am leaning towards number 5 but... but my vote goes to number 4.

We'll miss you, Jaxie, thanks for all of your hard work here. I'm going to go with #4. Best of luck with everything.

I'll miss you Jax. I've really enjoyed working with you. I'm going to be different and say it's none of the 5 you posted. No matter what it is, I wish you happiness and success and I hope we see you here from time to time.

Very creative thing to have possible destinations for you. All are very plausible. Mostly. I think gradschool is the right one, but an NYC media job could be nice too. Good luck in whatever you do. Thanks for being the leader through the rough waters.

Going to Hulu would be intirely too funny. #4 would be a dream job and nobody's getting that in this economy. #5 is too scary. That leaves #2 and #3. The idea of a non-profit in this economy having the money to fund and keep a position makes me too worried about your future. So that leaves grad school as my guess. However, whatever it may be - best of luck! You will be missed.

Thanks for all the time and energy you put into the site. You will be missed. No.4 seems to have been written in a different tone, so I'm going with that. I do hope you find fulfillment in whatever direction you decide to go.

Congrats on your new life and I'm sure you will be missed around here. As for that new life, I would not be surprised that the answer would be 6, all of the above. LOL Actually, I think it's number 3.

Thanks for being so helpful around here! I wish you the best of luck for the new challenges, grad school perhaps?

Thanks for always being so helpful You will be missed. My guess is number 2.

It's been a wild 2 1/2 years. I know you put a lot of effort into the job, even during the difficult times. No matter your future plans, I think your time at TV.com will have provided you with valuable experience at dealing with challenging public affairs issues and sensitive "political" issues. (Not so much national politics as organizational politics. Those battles can be quite heated and emotional too, as you certainly know.) If you are going to DC, drop me a note if you like. Maybe I can actually meet a (former) TV.com staff member in person one of these days. Good luck in whatever you are going to be doing.

*sigh*

Another one bites the dust. One of the best mods in the place and she's leaving.

Even though A LOT of stuff never got fixed, you were always took the time to help as much as you could or LISTEN to our gripes. You treated us with respect and made us all feel like someone at TVDOT actually cared.

I'm betting on Washington DC and the grad student thing as you sound very intelligent and well schooled.

We WILL miss you greatly.

Thanks again for all that you've done here at TV.com. It's quite a challenge to keep us around and active.

Hi Jaxie, I wish you all the best in your future endeavors. Being a tv fan, I would chose Hulu but as IndianaMom said you love food so perhaps as a food critic or for the Food Network. Again much success to you.

Whoa! I must say that after reading this blog, I was shocked! Hey well it's okay, I'm just amazed that it looks like you are leaving your current job now and transferring to something else in the job world, something fun and interesting that can always be an enjoyment. Well at least that job sounds like it is number 4 anyway. Number 5 I actually think could also be true, but then again... nah... a glitch that actually erases your existence? I don't think a bug like that exists... Wow, June 26th sure is gonna be a big day. Yeah after being here in the Winter of 2007, you've come a long way and experienced a lot of users and events and other things on this web site. I'm sure I am one of the many users here who contributed to you having a memorable and formative experince here. Your welcome. Well that just leaves one question now... if Jaxiecracks is really leaving this job, will someone new take your place? Because just having two community staff members working with the gltiches and all that is gonna be even more difficult...

Can the ether be considered another plane of existence? My hope is number four, I would love to vicariously travel through your food blog/column. You've been a very positive and even-handed presence on the boards here, and you will be missed. Good luck in your next endeavor!

Good luck, Jaxie !!

Now if you could make a little parting present and push the dev team to correct the way the crew and cast is displayed on episode pages, that would be grand !
Posted Jun 25, 2009 10:03 am PT
Thanks for everything, Jaxie. I know it was trying at times here at TV.com, and I think you did a fine job. I'll guess #6--none of the above!
Posted Jun 26, 2009 12:20 am PT
I'm guessing number 4.
Posted Jun 26, 2009 12:51 am PT
Thanks for all the hard work you put into this site. I wish you the best.

We'll miss you.
