I heard in the news the other day that Dark Knight is getting a lot of bad rep because of it's violence and dark humor. People are saying it should be a 15 and yet it contains little if any, specificaly bloddy violence. Surely parents could work out that a film called the Dark Knight was going to be dark. I mean what did they expect? Batman being joined by a load of fluffy bunnies and defeating Joker with a rainbow of flowers? Everyone knows Joker is mad so obviously there is going to be some 'crazy' violence in it. You can tell from the trailers that it is going to be violent. Basically parents:
If you don't like it, don't let your kids watch it.
Don't moan afterwards that you didn't think it was appropriate.

exactly. it got its rating for a reason and if kids U12 go its the parents fault

I always thought 12a was stupid what happened to good old 12, how can parents be expected to know if it's suitable before they see it, but obviously you have to expect the dark night isn't going to have a pleasant villain in it

The movie's violence wasn't really that much due to it being PG-13. I think some people are forgetting that Batman was not always cute and cuddly. He's a deeply troubled man.

I most certainly agree with you, Jag. My opinion is that the movie should have been rated 'R' and not 'PG-13', due to its dark nature and so forth. Regardless, it is still obvious either way that the movie is not suitable for children under a certain age. Completely obvious.
