I hate politics, and I'm not sure this is the best place for me to bring up my views on our presidential candidates, but it's something on my mind right now and I'm seriously perplexed.

I used to like McCain because a few years ago he wasn't afraid to cross party lines to do what he thought was right. He went on the Daily Show with John Stewart and he won me over However, during these campaigning days, he's kind of gone back on what he said previously to keep the conservative voters on his side. I of course know you can't trust politicians, but now I'm wondering just how full of poo he is.

With Obama, I basically feel that he talks big, but I don't know if he can deliver. But his less conservative ideals are what I'm looking for in a candidate. Maybe it's my liberal schooling, but I'm getting seriously concerned about the direction America is heading in. Banning abortion and banning gay marriage are steps in the wrong direction in my book (not THE book lol).

Where's the party/candidate that deals with common sense? I don't care what religion you are or who's poking you in the what, I just want someone who treats people equally, doesn't force their beliefs on others, and protects our country.

Actually, now that I think about it, I'm probably liberal because I care about environmental issues too. Meeeeeh. I hate politics. Forget trying to figure things out, I'll just watch tv until these feelings go away.

And about tv....Prison Break is back! And so is Sara! (hooray!) I love it! I can't wait for Bones tmo and I'm sure there are plenty of other shows that I can't think of right now, but I'll fangirl later. Wow, I instantly feel better. Go TV! That's my candidate! We should just get everyone in the world to watch an episode of The Office and everything would be fine.

I'm so with you on the whole politics thing. Obama and McCain both seem to be playing the game to get votes, and while I understand that's necessary I don't like it. Stupid politics.

...distraction...Yay new TV!

When it comes to voting for President, I tend to judge on what I feel is best suited for leading the country. That's the one ideal I tend to follow that is important. Sometimes politic preferences tend to come second over leadership. I thought Senator Joe Lieberman (who is more believable in the Democrat ideals) brought a very fitting speech in the RNC. He touched on the fact that whether or not we disagree with John McCain's positions, does his long-term experience in government make him capable in leading the country? I think that is the main reason he may win the election over Obama due to that area. If Obama was working for the government in a longer term (say like 10 years), then he may have a greater chance in winning the election and would be capable of leading as commander in chief. I don't think Obama is ready yet to assume leadership as the President; plus his past makes me question his judgment (ex: Rev. Jeremiah Wright and William (Bill) Ayers), which is something that is very important to have in a leader.

I wait for after the conventions to get whole synopses of them because I hate the bs speeches they give. But that is a good point about McCain, however I don't want my vote to give more power to causes I don't believe in. Which is why I'm on the fence. Damn undecided voters.

Meh... I like Obama the most. Bot that I care a lot, since I live in Norway. There's one thing I do care bout though: A president that doesn't meddle with affairs all over the world >_>

Lol, I agree! I'm proud to be american, but I'm not so proud of the image America has right now. I suppose if I look on the bright side, it'll take a lot for things to get worse right? *darn, I just jinxed it*

Heh, well, as long as Obama wins, I'll be happy. Even REM supports him (they said some bad stuff about Bush on yesterday's concert :lol

Obama definetley. I agree with llama guy we don't need another mother f*cking repiblican to make the whole world hate us even more. And banning abortion is so retarded. Sarah Palin's(sp?) daughter can get a freaking abortion instead of forcing the guy to marry her. Pardon my language. And obama's speeches are so inspirational, my god, i was cheering after his speech at the democratic national convention, and that is something i don't do very often. also he can definetley deliver, he worked so hard to get up there after all.....

Yeah, I don't know, I'm thinking about voting for a third party, since I don't really agree with either candidate enough
