Last week I was finally out for the spring vacation and all I've really been doing (besides work that is) was gaming and getting more games, games like; Resident Evil 5, Killzone 2, Unreal Tournament, Maximo, Indigo Prophecy, F.E.A.R. and Oblivion 4. The best part is that they didn't cost me anything since I got them all by trading in games at Blockbuster, and I mostly traded games I've been wanting to get rid of for months anyway, with the only exception maybe being Mirror's Edge and Bioshock. It's not like I wasn't gonna replay them anyway, especially MI, since it had some really frustrating time trials and speed runs. I also already traded RE5 after getting all the throphies, it didnt like the game as much as previous RE games. I found it dissapointing that the lattest in the series is now all about action and they didnt even tried to add some light horror, and the girl sidekick didnt made it any better either, as judging from her introduction in the story and the alternative costumes, you can totally tell that she just there for fan service.
Something interesting also happened to me when i was playing SF4 online; after a match, the guy I fought sent me a message saying that "he's from Mexico and that he should learn how to use El Fuerte". As if the coincidence that we're both from the same place wasn't big enough, after a while of chit-chatting through PS3 messages (which was a real pain in the ass since I had to use the PS3 controller to type letter by letter), I also found that that he's also from the same city as me! What are the odds of finding a fellow local gamer like that?
I also recently fought a really good Dhalsim online, he totally beat me but its through the really tough fights that'll improve yourself. The guy even uploaded a few of our fights on Youtube:
Thanks to fights like those now i know how to mix it up even more with El Fuerte, and in our rematch i was able to win a couple of matches. So if anyone out there is looking for a good match on Street Fighter 4, ADD ME ![]()
So i was tagged by benleslie, i was looking for something to blog about anyway. So here's some of my most shocking and shameful secrets
:
1. I have 2 names; Pablo Augusto
2. I've played XBOX only once in my life, with the game being Mortal Kombat Anthologies
3. I've over 100 DVD movies, with 99% of them being about anime.
4. The only comic book I still collect is SPAWN. I'm up to issue #173 now
5. The only music CD I own is Berserk Original Soundtrack, and most of the music on my computer is classical stuff like Beethoven and Mozart. I know very little about current music
6. My favorite fighting franchise is Clayfighter. Despite what everyone says I still think it's awesome.
7. I have no fashion sense, so I usually just wear jeans and logo less shirts (The Hank Hill look
)
8. I can't cook, last time I've tried cooking an egg it got stuck in the pan. Thank God for canned food and restaurants.
9. The first VHS movie I've ever bought was a hentai ![]()
10. JOJO_AC is short for JOJO ACADEMY; it's a combination of my first online nickname (JOJO) with the first forum I joined. After that I've been know as JOJOAC ever since( I always thought if it as JOJO A.C.)
So if i have to tag someone they would be: mufujifi and Mangaminx. You've been tagged, you have no choice now ![]()
So last week i went to a game store to check out what's new like I usually do every week. I rarely find anything worthwhile, but checking out game stores is an old habit of mine. As I expected I didn't found anything interesting, but the guy there said that he could get me the Street Fighter 4 game right then and there! I must have really made a good impression on the guy last time I was there to get Mirror's Edge (which i have already finish by the way), but at least he saved me the trouble of crossing the border.
So what's the first thing I did when I played SF4? Playing as El Fuerte of course. Not many people seem to like him for being a lot harder to use than the regular characters, but to hell with all of them I say! Masked wrestlers are awesome. And he's not just any wrestler; he's paying homage to one of the most famous Mexican wrestlers of all time
The one's in front are 2 well known mexican wrestlers, while the one on the back are 2 other Capcom wrestlers.
So with El Fuerte, that makes 3 Mexican fighters to ever appear in a street fighter game, and since El Fuerte is both a wrestler and a chef, he makes references to a lot of Mexican food in his win quotes, such as:
"Wash the taste of defeat away with my ajo and vaca soup" (onion and cow soup)
"Japanese and Mexicans aren't that different, you also like huachinango, right?"
"Leave the flour at home, the only real tortilla is a corn tortilla"
I have yet to meet a Mexican that doesn't find his quotes to be awesome. And just for kicks, check out his intro.
So among other games I recently got was Sega Genesis Ultimate Collection. It has like 40 sega games in one disc, so it's a must for all of us that grew up playing (or wanting to play) these games in the 90's. I'm mostly playing the Vectorman games, Streets of Rage, Shinning Force and Golden Axe. The other games I only played them for trophies, except for Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine which is a ridiculously hard puzzle, so hard that'll probably never play it again. And this is coming from a guy that loved Tetris and Tetris Attack.
On other news, i traded in my crappy copy of Jericho and got 007 Quantum of Solance. It's not a game i was really that interested in checking it, but anything's better than Jericho.
