No movement on any of my pending contributions (most of which are over two months old). None of my accepted submissions seem to affect the points on the person guides, so it's very clear I'll never attain the arbitrarily required 40 points needed to edit the guides that I care about. Really, what's the point?
The person guides here are needlessly complex and overly crowded. Movie credits, web links, and news items weren't carried over from TV Tome, meaning potentially hundreds of points on each guide were just plain lost. Possibly those will eventually appear here, but in the meantime, thousands of person guides are utterly untended. Case in point: my oldest pending submissions were in response to an email request from one of the actors I used to edit. He wanted to change the contact info on his own guide. At TV Tome, I usually handled such requests within the hour, sometimes even within minutes. Here, an actor personally requests a change to his own page, and that change sits on a frellin' shelf for two and a half months!!!
I used to check TV Tome at least daily, and not even just because of my editing duties. The only reason I check TV.com is out of sheer morbid curiosity. There are better and more easily accessible resources out there. And I find that sad.
edit:
Just found this after writing the above diatribe:
Assuming these facts remain true (they've changed their minds before on innumerable occasions), it's clear that this site will never be what I and many others would like it to be, certainly never anything like what TV Tome was. Not much point in sticking around in that case....

| Excerpts from Official TV.com FAQ wrote: |
| TV.com is not meant to be a resume service for people in the industry. Data from credited sources goes through the same submission process and is subject to the same terms as data from any other user. TV.com is a show-specific, not an actor-specific, database. This means that all links between an actor and a show happen at the show or episode level. |

Some people just don't have opinions. Like JCub_TVTome.
JCub_TVTome must really love MovieTome and agree with every review we've ever written! What other reason could JCub_TVTome possibly have for not rating a single film?
