This standalone movie absolutely blew the 2 previous seasons away - Each moment was riveting, suspensful, with a huge emotional bomb dropped in the last couple of minutes. Overall, it was everything you'd except from a great show's last rollercoaster ride. Spoilers.

I liked the series finale, but I wasn't blown away by it. I never denied it, I don't like the Scylla plot that much, and the finale dealt with that, apart from the last few minutes, which I loved very much.

And then came along this standalone movie, and damn. Much better than the finale. Simply put, this movie had everything that defined Prison Break in it's golden days: fantastic character interactions(with no character inconsistency), suspense with no illogical twists, somewhat belivable premise, and.... well, the prison enviorment!

How much I missed it, god. During season 3 the producers said there might be a spinoff called Prison Break: Cherry Hill which would revolve around a women's prison. The idea was dropped, but the writers got to try out their concept here, and I have to say, it was great, and very well executed. Also... I found Sara's character to be just ok, and in the later seasons pretty useless, but here, well, she was one of my favorites. The writers managed to finally give her some good material to work with.

The best part was without a doubt the ending. I think most of us believed that Michael died from the tumor, but no, he actually sacraficed himself, knowing about the tumor. Well.. let's just say it was heartbreaking, and from the moment of the sacrafice, it was hard to hold back the tears.

It was simply mesmerizing - a perfect way to wrap up the show. Much, much, much better than the series finale, as I said. Prison Break, after all, got the ending it deserved.

I didn't really read this as I haven't caught up with Prison Break yet, but I'm really glad to hear that it was a better ending to PB and that it now has a proper ending; it makes me more encouraged to catch up! Have a good weekend!

Just watched it. At start I found it unintentionally funny. Given that we knew how it ends, i thought the 4 years later footage in the series finale might ruined the suspense here but hell no. We knew what happened but not how it happened. It was refreshing not to see company guys in every corner waiting for the occasional random gun fights...actually it was good not to hear the word company. Glad to see a prison. While imo it was still the least awesome escape of the 3, it was still excellent. Even Mahone got his share. I thought they would just throw him in to help make a plan or something but he was well used. Some might say his decisions were out of character but I saw vintage Mahone here... just torn in situations. Even T-Bag got a role and an important one. Final scene was moving...hell i mean really really moving. Which ending was better? I think both fit well together. I have only 2 problems. First, the character in the prisons. I agree Sara was great. Always thought SWC was a good actress but this movie had Sara`s finest moments since......well opening the door lol. Gretchen was great too. Always like the character. However the others were ...meh. Daddy was not very imposing...bad casting here imo…very annoying. Others weren’t really captivating either. But it`s not their story and it’s a prison escape in 2 episodes...so no time to develop. Secondly, I would have prefer if they wrapped up things about the other characters. Like Mahone-Lang or how T-Bag went back to Fox River. Overall, fun ride. Never thought they’d make 3 prison breaks. I’ll miss this show.

I really think they should have put this as a Series finale

avi: i would agree that the inmates weren't that great, but then again, im not convinced they were meant to be. i mean they were just kind of there for the atmosphere.. 2 hours is not enough to introduce new characters. and lol "daddy" was very annoying, yeah. i think you raise a good point about the other main characters, though. in fact.. you raise a VERY valid point. but, well, i guess we wont be getting anymore so movies, so this is it. The show started with the story of Michael and Linc and pretty much ended with them.

And finally, very good point on the Company. You are right on the money.. it was VERY refreshing and gave me the old school season 1 feel. The lack of Company. Ahh. Even the general was just a pissed off inmate and nothing more. Loved that.

vman: agreed.

Yeah General even got some nice one liners. Agree it`s about Michael and Linc but still, characters really helped the show survive so long(let`s face it, not the plots)and not only these two. In that sense, the series finale`s ending is better. But can`t put everything in 2 eps. For Mahone, I guess Lang`s testimony is the beginning of some romance and T-Bag, he is accused to have helped in a prison escape, so that should get him transfered.
