On Saturday, August 15 around 1:36 a.m. I believe I have played one of the greatest games I have played in my life! You guessed it; I'm talking about the much ballyhooed Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of The Patriots. At first I didn't want to believe the hype. I'm not one to be easily swayed by popular opinion but everyone and their mother suggested that I play MGS4 so I gave it a try. Lo and behold I am writing this blog with shattered senses after playing such an awe inspiring game. I can't even call MGS4 a game because that would almost trivialize it. Rather, it's more of an experience that you simply must see for yourself if you own a PS3. Hell, even if you don't own a PS3 or don't care for games in general this is the title that will make almost anyone into a believer. From the jaw-dropping, pristine graphics (This game is best played on a HDTV set on 1080p resolution. Anything lower would be an insult to the game and yourself. Trust me!) With a magnificent music soundtrack to the awesome sound effects, this title is packing some serious heat. The game play is top notch with ultra precise controls and intuitive level design that is so well thought out that it boggles the mind how talented the developers are. Wow! Hideo Kojima, you seriously rock dude! I just recently started playing (I'm in act 1 still) but judging by the level of quality I've witnessed thus far I can tell I'm in for one hell of a ride!
Another year just came and went and now we are faced with the year 2008.There are so many unlimited possibilities for gaming it's unreal! I remember back in the day Street Fighter II was the undisputed king of the arcade and Super Mario World was the greatest game (to me at least) to come out in a long time. These games had a certain captivating charm about them that kept gamers coming back for more. Fast-forward to '08 and we have such promising titles like Spore, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Final Fantasy XIII, and Grand Theft Auto IV are just a few titles that seem to be brimming with awesomeness throughout. I can't wait for what the future holds for us gamers in the long run. Bring it!
