Alright... Well this is my first entry and I'm not quite sure what to say. I guess I'll just talk a bit about what is going in my life these days.
Crazziest thing recently, i started playing counter-strike again. Thats right, the original, not the new piece of crap they have now, thats a completely different game. Which reminds me, I should write a review on it. Anyways yea, I played the Original counter-strike when it first came out in the early beta stages, right around when Half-life came out. (Man that was an awesome game). i used to play this game non stop, until about a couple months before source came out. Other stuff took over, girlfriend, school and I joined a fraternity. When i left I was at the top of my game, playing competitive gaming like my life depended on it. i was playing against teams like United 5, xeno, waambulance , pretty much anything above CAL-MAIN. So anyways, last summer I kind of just decided to take it easy for a bit and focus on other stuff. Everything went well until this summer came about. What the hell am I going to do during the week when I cant go out coz I have work next morning and the weather f***ing blows. Hmmmm I got an idea, lest see if I am still any good at Counter-Strike? Well, i reinstall Steam and CS and all that good stuff, and what do you know... It feels awsome. I'm just creaming everyone in some random Pub i joined and it felt like so much fun. I had totally forgotten what it was like to playing this game. I am now once again hooked on the game, but I have a bit more control. It used to be staying about 50 hours strait all messed up on redbull. JAGGERBOMBS totally rock by the way! So anyways thats it for now.... I am bored as hell at work and just though i'd try this thing out. I am once again officially playing counter-strike.
Although I will say this. A lot has changed since I had left in early summer 2004. Leagues have totally warped towards CS-Source and the community has only gotten bigger. Most of my CS buddies from back in the day have long since retired, and they all give the same reasons for letting the game go. Things just aren't the same, the whole atmosphere of the game has warped into a completely saturated market. What was once a tightly nit group of friends playing CS has fallen of the earth and morfed into something for which i cannot find the words. Sure there used to be competition, but people were loyal and respectful. Now it is everyone for themselves, teams where the original lineup last 5 minutes just because someone messed up strat or had a bad day. This is why only the most successful teams are those that have been together the longest and built more than a superficial online relationship. Where I have stayed in close contacts with most of my CS friends, most these days seem to rip their way through the CS comunity without a flinch.
