Maybe it won't be as thin as the slim-line PS2, but it seems that Toshiba and Sony are working on reducing the power requirements of the PS3, thus slimming the system down and reducing production costs. Me too j. I think the 'old' PS3 is a beast, I hope they cut the price drastically.

I've been waiting to get a PS3 for this reason. I know it's silly, but I just really hate the look of the system in its current state. That thing is massive! Sony seems to announce a new PS3 SKU every three or four months, so I doubt we'll be waiting too long for this. I'm going with Christmas 2009.

It was bound to happen really. Should bring the PS3 to a wider market.

SNE needs a boost in the market both in game and movie sales. This could do it for this generation, especially now that MS is setting their console price so low.

I'll have my 'beast' for awhile too wolves, if only for the backwards compatibility. My dream: a bc slim-line PS3.

As per usual, I'll be picking up a console right before a price-drop.

Woot! ...

I just wish that meant they'd bring back the emotion chip...but maybe I'll be thus able to get one after all! Great news, thanks.
