This is the start to my Mega Man fanfic. Please tell me if you like it or if you think it sucks.

Prologue: Year C. 110XX

In the 71st century, Mankind no longer lives on the Earth. Humans have not lived on the planet for millennia. Without humans to pollute it, most of the planet has become overgrown with vegetation. Where once there were towering skyscrapers there are now great pillars of green. This is the perfect place for adventure.

Just inside the outer rims of the system, a star ship comes into view of the dwarf star known as the sun. The ship is carrying a group of humans who fled a nuclear strike on their planet. "This is our new home," a man told his wife, "This is the perfect place to raise our son. No criminals. No Warheads. No politicians... at least not yet." They were all ready to start afresh. All except a handful, that is. A few spies from the organization that bombed their home planet were amongst them. The crew all seemed a little edgy. If a mutiny happened out here, they could do nothing.

One night, as the couple was putting their young one to bed, there was a knock on the cabin door. Something about the knock made them nervous. The man told his wife to hide in the bedroom. As she closed the door, the front door opened. There was some speaking, then yelling, and then sounds of scuffling and finally shots fired. As the shots continued to ring out, the woman looked for a safe place to put her baby. There was nowhere. She then thought of the trash disposal system. She gently laid her baby into a large metal container along with a stasis device. This would be the only way to save him. As she looked at his innocent face on last time, she sealed the container and moved toward the disposal shoot. The gunfire stopped. Just as she was putting the container into the chute, the door opened. She hastily pressed the button marked "Jettison Trash". More shots rang out. The woman's body slumped to the floor.

It wasn't long before the mutineers had taken the rest of the ship. All civilians were killed or taken prisoner and all crewmembers were locked up. "There must be something we can do," one officer said. "There is," said another. "What's that?" All the crew listened as the one spoke. "Just before the takeover, I picked up an unique energy signal not .0014 light-years away headed towards us at high speeds. If we can move the ship into range, we may be able to signal to whatever it is for help. All we have to do is get out of here..."

The plan was set. Early the next morning, they made their break. Everything went wonderfully. They slowly fought their way to the bridge. If they could just get there, they could signal for help. After hours of cloak-and-dagger mingled with hot lead, they made a last desperate fight for the hull. It was successful. After locking themselves in and securing the traitors posted there, they began to steer the craft. They were now into position. The transmission was sent: SOS STOP MUTINY HAS TAKEN OVER STOP REQUEST ASSISTNCE STOP. Nothing. The transmission was sent again. Again, no reply. The signal only moved closer. Again the transmission was aired. Again there was no response. Whatever it was was getting very close. The crew began to panic as they feverishly tried everything they could do to communicate. There was a sound at the entrance to the bridge. "The rebels are breaking in!" came a shout. There were more hammering and more failed attempts at communication. The door burst open. Guns were blazing. Then the rebels stopped. They stood in awe at something behind the crew. The crew turned to see their fate too. There were a few moments of panicked silence. They now saw what the energy signal had been. The red laser was upon them. A brief second of blinding red light, then nothing. Nothing. Where there had once stood a grand starship was now empty space.
