We have lost another comedic legend.

Comedian, author and character actor Dom DeLuise passed away Monday afternoon. The cause of death has not yet been released, but he had been battling cancer for nearly a year.

His roles in various Mel Brooks films (including Spaceballs - few people realized that he provided the voice for Pizza the Hutt) and Burt Reynolds collaborations in the 1970s and 1980s made him a beloved comic presence.

He will be missed.

Hi Hooech, I have nothing but fond memories of him, you should check out some of his appearances on the Dean Martin Celebrity Roasts, he was terrific, he did this great Marlon Brando impersonation. He definitely put a smile on my old mug. Burt must be devastated they were life long friends. He used to make Burt laugh so hard and Burt's high pitched laughter more like a squeal (no reference to "Deliverance" whatsoever!). Really sad about his passing. RIP

He was indeed great. I was looking at his credits on IMDb and couldn't find one of my favorite roles of his. Perhaps you or someone else can set me straight. He played a character (I believe called Gutman) who was some kind of porn king (?) and came into possession of a Nazi porno tape that would discredit a soon-to-be U.N. Secretary, involving, of course, the Israeli secret police, the Mossad, and their pretty female commander.

My condolences go out to his family and friends. I only recently realized that his son David is a lead on Wizards of Waverly Place.

man, cancer... RIP. i had no idea he was still even alive... or that he provided the voice work for Pizza the Hutt. i did enjoy his newer (late 80's i think) Candid Camera show, especially because of his beautiful, young assistant. i forgot what her name was but she was incredibly attractive.

Nice tribute, Hoeech. I mostly remember him from talk shows back in the '70s. He seemed like such a nice guy.
