The Bioshock demo came over the Xbox Live Marketplace yesterday, and I downloaded it this morning. I can certainly say that Bioshock is going to be game of the year material, and I'm not one to judge something like that after such a small glimpse.The game has an amazing atmosphere to it that just immediately attracts you, but also makes you scared to journey around the nearest corner (at some points).
The story is definitely not your average utopia gone wrong. The demo reveals a basic introduction to the plotline that awaits in the final version of Bioshock, and leaves you at a fairly intense moment, but doesn't reveal the core meaning of anything. I am so anxious to discover why on earth the city became overrun with self-mutated people, who the Big Daddies and Little Sisters are, etc. Very compelling plot.
I am very glad to see Bioshock on the frontline of the series of titles that I am ready to get my hands on this late year. The game is just turning out to be absolutely stunning, and I definitely recommend that you download the demo if you are a fan of shooters.
