What exactly happened?
Posted Jan 21, 2008 6:30 pm PT
Only if you want to tell me, I'm fine if you don't want to say anything
Posted Jan 21, 2008 6:35 pm PT
A sad event (that is all I will say) happened and my internet time will be limited for a while. Since Avatar is one of the most popular shows on the site, it requires more attention then my other shows and I will not be able to give it that. My other shows I will have plenty of time to go through subs, but Avatar I won't.
Also, when you get enough points, you won't become editor until Midnight (Pacific Time).

To SPDShadowRanger, you were also great, thanks for you being the editor in the time of avatar most needed one. Good luck!
Posted Jan 21, 2008 7:04 pm PT
whoa! ur gonna be editor! congrats and good luck, ur gonna need it
Posted Jan 21, 2008 7:08 pm PT
True... I hope people don't submit too much in my first few days as editor
Posted Jan 21, 2008 7:12 pm PT
I don't know why I keep coming to your blog, but I would have to say, if you retired overnight and gave the editorship to miruko you would most definitely be in my good book, which is hard to get in, but its a lot to ask so have fun with the editorship!
Posted Jan 21, 2008 7:12 pm PT
I hope I don't retire overnight... I've worked hard and submitted a lot recently and wouldn't want it all gone in 1 night without any time as editor
Posted Jan 21, 2008 7:13 pm PT
Lol, I submit a few at a time. Don't worry.
Posted Jan 21, 2008 7:14 pm PT
You need to process subs within 3 days to not be considered MIA, so I think 3 days is enough time to process, I think...
Posted Jan 21, 2008 7:15 pm PT
I've never been an editor before for anything, so I'll have to learn how everything works while keeping up with the avatar forums
Posted Jan 21, 2008 7:15 pm PT
I probably won't submit too much those days, since I have four exams coming up this week and next week. I will support you, hope you can have fun, and enjoy the power of being an editor.
Posted Jan 21, 2008 7:16 pm PT
It's not really that hard.
Posted Jan 21, 2008 7:17 pm PT
I don't know anything like how to check the submissions, how to accept/ decline, how to lock or stick threads or moderate in general
Posted Jan 21, 2008 7:18 pm PT
ask pooldude, he knows everything
Posted Jan 21, 2008 7:20 pm PT
Or I'll just ask 1337Bloodbender whose here right now and also knows all that stuff...
Posted Jan 21, 2008 7:21 pm PT
So, 1337Bloodbender, how's all that editor stuff done?
Posted Jan 21, 2008 7:26 pm PT
Another new editor. I know you'll be a great one.
Posted Jan 21, 2008 7:31 pm PT
You see that forum tab? Once you become editor, there will be something next it named, "My Queue." All of the submitted submissions will appear in a list. You click one to view the submission. It will show the new data and the previous one, if it was an edit. There are tabs that designate, whether a sub is to be rejected or accepted, so you choose one of those two options, obviously. Seriously though, it's pretty self-explanatory. Trust me.
You need to clear subs within 3 days. That is IMPORTANT! For popular shows it's 3 days and for other shows it is 7. If you have to be away for a certain period of time, you have to go to the special circumstances thread in the editor's lounge. If you do not, you will be classified as MIA or "missing in action." You will recieve a warning, and if you do, you need to respond back or your editorship will be removed. After multiple MIA violations, it is likely an editorship will be removed as well. I tell you about forum moderation in the next comment...

Thanks, you're a great help
Posted Jan 21, 2008 7:40 pm PT
As for forum moderation, if you click a thread, you should see below the forum tab, (select an action below) It gives you the option to stick, lock, delete, or move the topic, so that is pretty simple. When you become editor you see should see the option, "moderate", when you click the (select an action below) tab on each person's individual post. If you select that option, it will tell you that by confirming your choice, you will automatically mark a post as offensive and will take you to the moderation page. So do not just select the moderate option, so that you can just see how it works.

Lol...it's lucky you told me that
Posted Jan 21, 2008 7:48 pm PT
Oh also, I'll tell you how to appoint trusted users. You have to click the "contribute" tag on the "Show Vital Stats" on the show summary page. Once you become editor, you will see an option to "manage trusted users." You can appoint up to 2, but they must be top 5 on the list, excluding the editor himself. Be careful on who you appoint, though because trusted users get everything they submit approved, so they have some ediotr-like privileges. You shouldn't appoint a total n00b, or someone you think that will take advantage of the system. However, you can choose not to appoint anyone as trusted, if you decide to. If you are worried that you will be taken over, that would be the best way to go, unless you appoint people who promise not to pass you.
Posted Jan 21, 2008 7:55 pm PT
Oh, since you submitted a lot of info already, you have a good idea on what submissions are acceptable/unacceptable, right?

All Hail Editor High00Lord.
Good luck.

I think you should appoint Pooldude and Miroku as trusted-Pooldude (no offense) still should be editor, and Miroku was going to be editor anyway.
