I now have a noisy new friend.

My good friend Peter made me an offer I couldn't refuse and I jumped headlong into it. Xbox 360 Premium, Xbox Live membership, the whole shebang. Still made a dent in my bank account, but the fact that I got it for less than my Wii cost me made me smile. And hey, despite the horrendous noise this big white box makes next to my computer monitor, I got to finally play and finish Halo 3 without waiting for it to come out on Windows in 2010.

You know, FPSes with a controller aren't so bad. Doesn't mean I won't get Orange Box on PC, though.

So all in all, I'm pretty happy. I get to try out tons of games I missed out on, wrapped in pretty sweet online functionality. I just need to get used to the unusually high quantity of idiots on headsets.

You can find yourself with that proble, the one dealing with headsets, on FPS's. In other words, the entire 360 libraryy, which translates into almost all 360 users. Try and find yourself some people who are reasonable though, it takes a while.

Yeah, it DOES make a lot of noise, especially since the last update. But it runs cooler. My tip? Play with headphones (when you're playing solo that is).

The 360 is a great lil' beast, despite its problems. The game library easily forgives all the system's cons. I'd rather have a console with some issues and great games than a "flawless" console with a poor game library... *coughcoughPS3coughcough*
