Because if someone has to take a bullet for mankind, might as well be me.

I know it's been a LONG time since my last update, but college life and work has eaten up most of my time. I just finished up my midterms, and while I think I'm doing okay, there's always room for improvement. I'm gonna have to really buckle down and keep my fingers crossed.

And the other thing going on with me lately is that the powers that mod has bestowed upon me that great responsibility.

Me, of all people. Who knew?

(Actual look of surprise I had.)

I promise I will perform to the best of my abilities, to help those in need, and to be an all around decent person.

That's it for now. I'll try to have another update later this week.

Last week, I asked for your help in deciding on what new laptop I should get. After much deliberation, I've decided to go with a HP...although it's not the model I initially had in mind between the two choices. I wound up getting Hp's HDX 16t.

It's a pretty solid machine, and it only costs $1000 Here are some of the specs:

  • Intel Centrino Core 2 Duo Mobile Processor
  • 4GB memory, Upgradeable to 8GB
  • NIVIDIA GeForce GT 130M video card
  • 500GB storage
  • Built-in wireless network card w/Bluetooth
  • Built-in fingerprint reader

This was the machine I was initially going to order from Hp directly; the only diferences were to be a bumped-up processor, a higher resolution screen, and a Blu-Ray drive. But, I wouldn't recieve it in time to startmy courses tomorrow. Speaking of which...

After 13 years, I'm FINALLY going to be starting college tomorrow. I'm going to be a paralegal, if things go as expected. I'm a little nervous, because I'll be doing both school & running the store full-time. It's a lot of work, but I can't be running the shop forever. I got bigger & better thing in mind for the rest of my life.

Anyway, that's it for now. I'll try to keep up the blog, time permitting. Talk to you guys later...

I'm currently in the final stages of getting ready to start college within the next week and a half. I got my textbook (only need one this semester) and my schedule is set. The only thing left for me to do is go computer shopping for a new laptop. I originally was going to order one from HP, but unfortunately, I won't be able to get it in time for class to start. I'll be using it primarily for school, but I just might use it for movies, some music, & some light gaming on the side, eventually replacing my old desktop Vaio, which I've had for 5 years. I've just about narrowed it down to two choices. Hit the links for the full stats:

HP Pavilion Laptop dv7-2185dxA nice, fast, beefy machine which seems perfect for all my needs. The downsides are the lack of a Blu-Ray drive, its size (I know it's a meant as a desktop replacement, but it isn't that much of a pain for me to carry) and no HD display, although I can hook it up to my TV.The price is a bit on the high side.

Dell Studio XPS Laptop X1640-026BSmaller, leaner, but seems to be a still worthwhile notebook. Plus, Blu-Ray! On the minus side, I heard the resolution leaves something to be desired, I can't hook it up to a TV easily because of a lack of an HDMI slot, plus it runs very warm from some of the research I've done.

Throw a brother a bone....Which should I go with?

Some people just don't have opinions. Like Hallenbeck77.
Hallenbeck77 must really love MovieTome and agree with every review we've ever written! What other reason could Hallenbeck77 possibly have for not rating a single film?
