Y'know, playing eve just seems to open up all this free-time. Those times you've nothing to do between long journeys and that down time mining ore. So this morning, I've been pretty much spending my time here on GS looking through this month's PC releases.

So of course, Still Life 2 came out. Yay! I loved playing through the first game and I love adventure games like this. The first one had a very open ending, so it'll be nice to finally get closure. Since my bro isn't equiped for PC gaming, I'll be streaming it for him so we can at leas somewhat play together. He was the one that introduced me to the first game.

This also reminds me, I need to trackdown the two Syberia games for PC. I really enjoyed those, too.

And next week Wolfenstein. *does excited happy dance* THAT I really can't wait to play. I've seen a lot of pretty things about this game, and hey, it's Wolfenstein.

I'm taking a chance and getting Death to Spies Moment of Truth. Everything I've seen makes it look like a WWII Hitman, though much harder. Velvet Assassin has gotten me back in the mood for this style of gameplay, so I think I'll enjoy it. I like how if you use certain weapons on an enemy, you can't use the uniform as a disguise because you ruined it. Makes sense. Kill someone with a grenade, what makes you think a tatered, bloody uniform will make a good disguise? Granted, I'm not good with the stealth stuff. Splinter Cell was always difficult for me, because I tend to lose patience and get easily frusrated, but they're a nice change of pace from the usual run-and-gun, and I'm dire need of new experiences.

And speaking of new experiences, Hearts of Iron 3. I love strategic board games, especially those old ones that came with tons of counters and take hours, even days to complete. Dad and I could spend a whole weekend duing it out on Axis & Allies. The old, original version before they changed the rules to favor the good guys. Starship Troopers, 1776, Waterloo.. I've a whole closet full of these cardboard-counter wargames. This game caught my eye just from seeing a random screenshot that made it look like a computerised version of such wargames. So beautiful. I just HAVE to give this a try.

Time of Shadows comes out later this month and seems mildly entertaining, but I likely won't pick this up 'till I've forgotten it and it shows up as $9.99 on Direct2Drive. That's how I ended up getting Doom 3. Always wanted it, played it a little at my Bro's old place, then forgot, until they had it cheap and I was like *MINE*

So, not a bad month for PC releases. If I had a nice chunk of change to drop on a project, I'd probably work on making a PS3 Laptop, though I think it'd still be pretty clunky. I'm glad people have made emulators for PSX and PS2. It still makes my nephew scratch his head when I insert a PSX or PS2 game into my laptop, LoL. I need to convert an old controller just for kicks.

And to stay off topic, that reminds me I need to head down to Oregon. There's a place that sells old pinball tables and arcade machines. I want to gut one, and turn it into a multi-system piggy-bank. Shouldn't be too hard. I'm not going to gut any systems, but put in some shelves so I can easily store and conceal my systems in the box, install a simple 3 way togle switch to function as a system selector, and just have it output to the screen. I can get one of those nice universal arcade sticks, too. Yeah, you'd be limited to whatever was in the system, but I don't particularly care. It's mostly just a functional decoration, since I hardly play my consoles anymore.

It'd be neat to do a PC arcade box installing a trackball into the dash for the mouse. I really need a project. Maybe I'll just design my own box, draw up some schematics and head over to home depot for some wood. That sounds fun.

I'm also looking forward to Wolfenstein. That game looks "hawt." Also on tap that has my interest is Dissidia: Final Fantasy. The demo was better than I expected. Finally Batman: Arkham Asylum.

@hart704 I'm downloading the PC Demo for Arkham Asylum. I'm hoping it gives me good memories from the related comic. I'll have to check out the Dissidia demo then. I really didn't expect anything great from it, being a bit tired of the series, but it'd be nice to have a good hand held title that's worth the time.
