Long time, no see, dudes. I did leave for a while. I was kind of losing interest in Gamespot. I started to realize just how obsessed I was getting with gaming. That's one of the biggest reasons I left. I know this sounds really dramatic, but going on that Katrina trip and then a youth retreat a couple of weeks later changed me. I got closer to God and started reading my Bible more. I feel so much better after giving up the wants that would constantly fill my mind. I wanted a PS2 so bad that that was all I thought about in the coming days of the Katrina trip. I later realized just how selfish that was. God deserves more time than what I've been giving him. Sorry to be so preachy, but that's really how I feel. So I don't know if you've figured it out, but I didn't get a PS2. After the trip, I kind of gave that up. I thought it was selfish of me to pinch every penny I could to get it. I didn't even want to spend money on my dad for his birthday. Then, I knew I was going too far. So I didn't get it. Since then I've gotten more CD's and started loving music more. I've played my guitar more, I've listened to music more. It's just something that I really started to love. And to some people I know's dismay, I've become more of a metalhead I'm really starting to dig pretty much every band out of Solid State. I'm hoping to join the youth band at my church in a couple years. In time, if God wills it, I would love to be in a band and join a label. We'll see how that goes.

This may be just an reiteration of something you guys already know. I just thought I would give you the skinny about what was going on in my life. After I gave up Gamespot, I did check on periodically to check up on a few friend's blogs. Pretty soon, people started declaring me dead. I knew I had to say something to you guys. I'm sorry I didn't give you guys any warning about my leave of absence. I just wanted to give this up so I wouldn't get caught in the trap again of the never-ending want of more things. I hope you guys can forgive me. I don't know if I'll really use this site much more for gaming things. I've pretty near given that up (except for Guitar Hero. I'd still love to play that) I will use it for my personal blog, though.

Like I said, I hope you guys can forgive me for my unwarned absence. I just needed to get off for a while. I don't know how much time I'll spend back on here. I probably won't do much in unions, except for maybe the Christian Rock Union (Sorry, BigC. You can go ahead and demote me from everything except the CRU). If you guys have any questions, just PM me or leave a comment

Well... I'm back...

welcome back
yeah lately I've been not really enjoying games except for Nintendo games. (reason why I sold my Xbox and never play my PS2 anymore)

Welcome back! I knew you weren't dead...

Just to clarify, I like your honesty about why you are really slowing down on gaming, but you don't have to give it up completely. All you need to do is make sure you put God first and your family second. After those and other more important things, gaming can find it's place. If I were you, I'd still save up for a PS2 or 360, but take it slower and just get it when you have earned enough extra money. I know I'm not a great example of that, but it does work.

Oh, btw, I will re-promote you in CGU. That place really misses you, as weil as CRU. Welcome back and I will look forward to seeing more frequent blogs from you from now on...

Thanks, BigC. I'll probably get a PS2 eventually, because GH is just so incredibly awesome, but I'm not obsessed. It'll come when I get a bunch of extra money. Either way, I'm glad I'm back

Oh, Gamespoting, when and if you post a comment here, sorry if I made you look like an idiot on your blog. I just didn't want you guys thinking I was dead...

I made a special thread in CGU to welcome you back. Check it out when you can...

I'd love to keep chatting with you and catch up on old times, but I really need to go to bed, so I'll see you tomorrow if you are on, Griffer.

GRIFFER, YOU BACK!!!

This makes me so happy. I don't care at all that I look like an idiot!

My question is, why of all days did you pick this one to come back? Your profile says you haven't been on for a couple of months. It is so ironic that you chose the day I made a blog about you to show up!!!

I can't believe it. I apoligize for assuming the worst but you have to admit that from my perspective things looked pretty bad.

Well, WELCOME BACK FRIEND!!!

I understand perfectly. I had to do the smae thing a couple of years ago when I realised that TV and video games had taken over my life. It doesn't sound silly, and it's great to here from you! Again I understand if you don't log on much anymore, but could you please check on us every once in a while or something?

Hey there. Hope you feel better with life now. Sometimes when you do so much of the same thing you really need to consider what the future is. Glad you're thinking ahead.

cool i saw Gamespoting's blog and i was like wow, but glad you are all right. You just made me re-think a couple things, and i think i see what you mean, gaming is pretty selfish, and sometimes a waste of money, but i still play them just because of the good times they bring when your with friends, those experiences and being here on GS to me make it worth it. Its not at the level of obsession for me anymore, it was a little while back, but now that winter is going away and i am moderating my own time on GS and gaming daily, i do feel like a better person. To much of something can be bad, i guess thats true...

Long time no talk. Anyway I like what you were saying however I don't think you have to give up gaming or wanting. It is only human nature to want things. The only thing is, is that you have to do it in moderation. Just don't get greedy thats all. It happens even to the best of us.

Man you had us all worried! well I'm glad your life is going good but please don't disappear like that again! Or if you do tell us before you do it.
