Right, i said in my last blog that i have learned so much since Tokyo Mew Mew. It's so true but I decided to explain myself.
Well i'm embarrased to admit that before TMM i didn't know much (or anything) about manga, anime and that whole area. I used to always like watching anime shows but just thought they were normal cartoons (ok, i knew they were Japanese, i'm not that bad). I knew that America dubbed loads of Japanese shows but i never knew that by "dubbed" that usually meant: change the names, change the script, change the characters, cut out half off the plot, cut out anything "not suitable for children" and edit the show so much that it was barely recognisable apart from the drawing!!
Okay, to be fair not all dubs did awful jobs, big kudos have to be sent out to whoever dubbed "Fruits Basket" because i've seen both the Japanese and the English and they are identical!! But generally most dubs change a lot of stuff!! I'm not saying that dubs are bad and i hope i'm not offending anyone who likes these dubs because i used to love them until i discovered the originals!!
Another thing that i've learned from TMM is how to read manga's. I never really understood much about manga (i just thought they were comic books) until i read my first manga and now i'm addicted.
TMM was my first manga but i'm planning to read Cardcaptor Sakura and hopefully Fruits Basket which is the best selling shoujo manga in the world!! I've heard that it's brilliant and i can't wait to read them!!
That is another thing, Japanese. Okay since i was about seven i have always had a desperate passion for everything Japanese; i wanted to live in Japan, speak Japanese, and do everything Japanese people did!! In primary school i always based my geography projects around Japane and i think it's safe to say "I was obsessed!" But despite my obsession, i never got around to learning Japanese.
However, one day when i was watching an episdode of TMM i was listening to the language and lets say that old flame was rekindled. I was desperate to start learning Japanese and i'm not one of those people who wait to do things! That very night, i started and online course in Japanese!! I'm still only learning the basics but i'm getting there and i'm loving every moment of it!!! It is such a beautiful language!! So i have to say a big "Arigatou" to Tokyo Mew Mew for that!!
Anyway the point of all of my ramblings is that TMM has done loads for me which is why it will always mean alot to me!!!
Right so i'll see everyone later, feel free to comment and i'll probably reply (I'm rarely off this site!)
Ja mata ne!! (See you!!)

Surprisingly, the one anime/manga i haven't seen is Sailor Moon. Everyone keeps saying how good it is so i really want to see it but i've just never got around to it!!
