So recently I picked up a game I hadn't played in a long time, the game I'm talking about is Ninja Gaiden 2. I had rented it when it first came out so I played a little bit of it, but i decided to wait for a price drop since i didn't have the money to buy it at the time. Well the time had finally come to pick it up, since its now under $20 i couldn't resist and i still felt ashamed that I hadn't beaten it the first time around. So now that I have finally beaten the game I feel that i can say a few things about it, this isn't a review though because I would have been more in depth with it if it was. ![]()

First off as you all know the ninja gaiden games are about fast and furious action, with a devious difficulty level. With that said the game was pretty fun and really cool to watch ryu in action. There isn't much of a plot but there is just enough to keep you motivated through the game, and the combat is so satisfying that a lack of story isn't too much of a problem.

Now as I've already said the difficulty in this game is brutal just like the first ninja gaiden which to this day i still don't have the patients to finish. It fluctuates in very strange parts as well, one minute you'll be tearing guys apart and then the next ryu looks like a pinball bouncing all over the place from the beating. Some people might get discouraged or turned away from the game by this, but i was compelled to finish the game, every time i died i got more eager to not make the same mistakes again.

With a variety of weapons at your disposal ryu can dismember and disfigure his enemies in ways i cant even describe. Its a shame though that Sigma 2 will lack the same amount of violence this version has, i mean it wont be a total loss but the visceral feel and look of the damage ryu causes is something the game definitely does very well.

Overall Id say the game was pretty good, it has a crazy difficulty curve and a number of other problems such as the horrendous camera which at certain points feels like a bored camera man who has found something more interesting to look at in the distance. But those flaws aside i had a good time with this game, the sheer fun factor this game has is great. Id say it does what all games back in the day did well, which means gameplay takes priority over everything else and since ninja gaiden 2 is a series from that era I'm glad they have stayed true to it. I wouldn't recommend it for everyone but IMO it is by far the best ninja game ever. Lol well maybe not as a ninja game that focuses on stealth but you know what i mean.

Thanks for reading guys and i hope everyone has a good week

I might pick up Sigma 2, just for the co op.
Oh and God Hand kicked my ass on normal why more than Ninja Gaiden did.
@LOLLY_RED: The series is great, good to see another fan
@heavenboy666: its all good, i wouldn't expect it to be a game for everyone
@-Oath: lol yea i couldn't have said it better myself, and its almost like the camera gets worse during boss fights just to hinder you.
@Hanzoadam: Yea me too, and id like to see how momiji plays in sigma 2 as well
@Azure_Valkyrie: Warrior was plenty difficult for me
@siLVURcross: Agreed its punishingly difficult, and i might pick up sigma 2 as well just to see what they have added to it
@LuigiRulze: I have the DS one too, its alot better than i thought it would be
@Katzenbalger: ugh the water dragon, i know your pain. I think the ghost fish were a bigger annoyance.
@Gab0205: I know what you mean, its a good game but it has a number of faults.
@david_lck: thanks
@hazelnutman: Yea, im wondering if Itagaki leaving has anything to do with them toning down the violence since im pretty sure he would have never let that happen if he was still in charge
@Kid_Black_Star: good to hear and i hope you enjoy it
@slimdave21: thanks and im actually pretty proud and happy that i managed to beat it. I agree NG DS is not the greatest out of the series but im surprised how it was actually better than i thought it would be. But the original NES ones will always be a big part of my love for the franchise.
Thanks to everyone for all the great comments
