Ladies and mentlegen, I feel the need to share something with you tonight, because I find this to be shocking, and unbelivable.

"The Institute For Human Continuity"

I saw an ad on TV for this site, and I couldn't believe it. The TV ad said you could purchase something... Lottery related to have a chance of survival in 2012? Apparenty, modern science can confirm the world will end in 2012 according to this site, and so does the Mayan calendar. Right. The mayan calendar didn't just, you know, end on that date, or anything. Obviously must mean end of the world.

Anyways, this seems like our version of Fallouts "The Vault", and at first it was kind of disturbing, and even worrying. However, I clicked the "privacy policy", and guess where it leads me?

Sony Pictures privacy policy.

Yes, this entire site, set to look like a real "OMFG OFFICIAL END OF WORLD OSHI", while it's just clever advertising for a movie. What a horrible way to advertise, I think it's pretty low. Didn't these guys make that awful, awful Godzilla movie and Day of Disaster, or whatever it's called.

I just find this unbelievablethat people would actually do something like this. Pretty lame, if you ask me. Thoughts?

Hmm... Sure sounds freaky. Whenever I've got more time on my hands I'll check it out myself.

it is an awful advertising, and when you are already talking about the Mayan calendar, it does end in December 2012, but the Mayan doesn't say it's the end of the world, they say there gods will come back on that day, and many speculate that there gods are aliens

well have fun

Eh, I dunno... my natural cynicism makes me not really care. Sony can do all this fakey "viral marketing" as much as they want, and the film will still probably be poop-on-a-stick...

Just saw District 9 -- liked it! Why can't we get more movies that are well done and fun, and NOT overhyped before release?

Yeah, it's pretty stupid to advertise a movie by telling us we're all dead.
