Well let me say that this is lengthy before yall take the time to read me assesment of the three next-gen systems. I have over 315 videogames in my personal collection, by telling you this I am merely making you witness to my extensive interest and experience with games of types.
First off lets start with the Xbox 360, not because it the best, but more for the reaosn because its not the best, we'll save the best for last. The name Xbox 360 hints that microsoft is making a 360 degree turn, which means they weren't doing what they wanted to do with the Xbox, so now they are turning completely around and filling in the blanks. The Xbox 360 has been around longer than the others, partially due to the fact that they pushed its launch date up, because the Xbox was the last of the 3 systems to come out in the previous next-gen war, now the Xbox 360 is the first in the current next-gen war. that bing said, given the lack of time that the have had, I personally think it wasn't the wisest choice that they've made. So they have been out now for roughly a little over a year and have sold just over 10 million Xbox 360 units to date. Their highlights are Gears of War. I can't finish this now due to time constrait, but I'll be sure to finish it later tonight.

I'd say 360, a friend of mine has a 1 and its awesome. I have a Wii, its cool but the 360 has a better selection of games and has a massively cool list of games coming out this year.

As I said, I will continue with my assesment of these next-gen systems. The PlayStation 3 was a simple name if you ask the average gamer, possibly too simple, they didn't take many risks at all and copied from the other big names (Nintendo and Microsoft). Now I, of course know, that you want evidence for making such extreme claims, and that I do have, let me explain. The Xbox is titled 360, the Nintendo is titles as the Wii which if you've seen any of their commercials you would know precisely why they chose that name, it means "we" as in we gamers or us gamers stand united. However, Sony went with what a 5 year-old would name his next system, "oh yeah, just add the corresponding number behind it and we have our next-gen name, man that didn't take long"......... Next lets look at their controller, it is basically the exact same controller as the PS1 and the PS2, the only differences is the PS2 had dual shock padded joysticks, but the PS1 didn't, and the PS3 has the exact same stuff and formation as the PS2 but it has a new button in the center if I am correct.
Next in line, the PS3's price tag, ok who wants to pay $500 or $600 (for the full version) for a new gaming system, you'd be better of getting a new computer if your going to spend that much, sure it has blue-ray technology, and is cheaper then an actual blue ray player, but come on, how many of you were actually planning on buying a blue ray player..... Graphically, the thing looks sweet, especially on a plasma TV but is a graphics upgrade worth that much? Also the PS3 games will now cost $60 per game instead of the usual $50, yes even the core Sony games, whereas the Xbox 360 games will cost Same as the PS3 but the core Microsoft games will only cost about $50, however for the PS3 and Xbox 360 games that are special editions, you can plan on forking out a wooping $70 bucks. so if you buy 3 normal third partiy games for you Xbox 360 and 1 special edition game then you will be paying $250 precisely, oh guess what, a Nintendo Wii cost only $250.
One more thing about you Sony and your PS3, as far as new technology goes, your supossed to be top of the line, but when your PS3 came out many spanking new version couldn't play PS1 or PS2 games, now they can in your new update that players have to download online if they have a "faulty" $600 PS3 and it is called PS3 version 1.5 its free of course though, which It should be. Also, the PS3 with all its new technology, cannot do 2 things at once, it can't listen to downloaded music on your system and play games at the same time... even the original Xbox could play games and listen to music at the same time, and now you have a $600 Boom Box in your living room that can transform into a next-gen videogame system. I said that was all but let me give you the figures as well, the PS3 has sold nearly 3,400 units so far. Its in a distant 3rd place and they are actually losing $180 and so many cents on each $600 PS3 system they sell and a wooping $280 and so many cents on each $500 PS3 system they sell. Way to go Sony...

OK finally, the nintendo Wii, the most successful system of the next-gens so far.
First off its only $250, which means it is more affordable, bigger price doesn't always mean better, in fact many times it doesn't mean better. Also Nintendo is the only 1 of the 3 companies that are keeping their games at $50 a shot on average, no regular $60 or $70 games, smart move Nintendo, but I never doubted you from the start. Furthermore the most anticipated game for a long time was released for the Wii on launch day, an incredible 93% of the people who picked up a Nintendo Wii bought Zelda: Twilight Princess as well. The Wii is also the only game system of the newer ones to come with any games. Ok its the cheapest and comes with a free game that actually is a fantastic title, Wii Sports, how cool it that???
The Wii also features free online play which they will use in the future with games like SSBB ( Super Smash Bros. Brawl), the downloadable classic games are an awesoem addition and they get about 4-6 more every week starting on Monday. Its roughly 3-10 dollars per downloadable game and it is rumored that some downloadable games will have extra options and cool stuff that they didn't before, like mabey online vs mode or incredible features like co-operative modes through games that used to be single player, talk about impressive that is worth drooling over. Next the Wii can play, not some, not many, but ALL Nintendo GameCube Games on the Nintendo Wii, I don't even use my GameCube anymore thanks to the Wii's impressive features. On top of all that you have the weather channle, which lets you check out the forceast anywhere in the world, and I mean anywhere, and it gives you a 7 day forecast too. You also have a Mii that you can use in many online features on your Nintendo Wii such as the newest channel, the poll channel (I forgot its name), in this channel you use your Mii to vote on different topic on Nintendo's message boards and such. Nintendo has a News channel as well which keeps you up-to-date on all the important news. You also don't have to buy and expensive memory card for your Wii as you can use your Wii's memory for it. If your Wii is connected online, then you will be able to send and recieve message with other people who have, Wiis, cell phones, and computers. Your Wii will flash blue, even if it is turned off but is still connected to the internet and you have a message. It also records how much time you spend on each game or channel each day, thats pretty cool, I have always liked statistics.

Since other poeople have been writing large mesages, I might as well also. In turth right now, there is no best system. Let start with the 360, right now I can say, mircosoft has show me that they can make a great system. 360 also has the best online service and the xbox live acrade is great but sadly you have to pay for it (you get what you paid for) and those gamer point make it so there is some replay. Gears of war is mircosoft best game even proveing to sell better than most xbox tittes in japan (of couse blue dragon wins that one). The only bad part of the system I can think of is that if you don't like first person shooters like halo you will fell kind of empty with the 360 but then there always games like DOA4 for fighting and the likes of that. Overall, if you go with a 360 right now, you won't feel disapointted but we will have to wait and see when halo 3 comes out. Next is the wii, nintendo already earn my money from the wii from E3 2005, now I own one with zelda, TC Second opinion and Wii sports, they are great, something new to the table and like what MegaManMasterer said, they are the only company keeping there games at 50 bucks which is a big bonus for us wii owners. The grahpics though not the greatest, are good because the wiimote well make it feel like your playing a new game. Thrid party surporters are also jumping to the wii with it new controller but this is also a bad thing, showed in the case of ubisoft, most of there game are ports (almost all of there games are ports expect for red steal and rayman) which company will try to make a quick buck, seeing 7 games from ubisoft at launch is great, please just don't make it games I ether, I already played (POP Rival swords) or just crappy games (GT pro and Far cry). VC is also holding the wii up but some games are overprice like I'm not going to pay 10 bucks for a copy of mario kart 64 when I owned the the n64 version so I just don't buy it, and SNES are almost impossible to play with the gamecube controller which will make you forced to go outside and buy a CC controller (I already have one so I am safe). Overall, even though the wii is new, it still a gimmy system, please nintendo, give me Mario kart wii, Super smash bros Brawl, and the others like that. And last is the ps3, big sony talker, don't buy a ps3 for what it worth right now, my bro has it and he only plays ps2 games on it. Only game my bro has on the ps3 is R FOM, played it, got bored atfer two weeks of online. The playstation is not even updated that much (but that also because there are barly any games coming out for the ps3). The whole thing about this system was it a ALL in one system which it has everything, too bad it does not have the one thing I want, games. I will give this system one more year to start getting better before I go all out wii but playstation 3 can win, it just needs the games, it you really want it, you would get it no matter what the cost but of couse, who wants to spend $500 to $600 dollars in on one thing when you can both a 360 and a wii for near the sae price. If thats the case for you, then just wait for a price drop.
Now in the end, I say wait for right now, wait until the end of 2008 and we will know which is the best system. I know this was long but thanks for reading.
