I would agree completely that bashing a game is not only pointless, but extremely stupid. WoW is obviously a good game, due to 11 million people playing it, so there is no point in saying that it is a "bad" game. I pre-ordered WoW, and picked it up the day of release. I loved MMO's because of the depth and content of what you could do. WoW is a great game, don't get me wrong, I myself have a pretty decked out level 70. I haven't played in a year and a half, and don't regret not playing. Games are addicting, and that will always hold true, but there is something about WoW that really brings out the worst in people. I myself have wasted pointless hours leveling, questing, and fighting for good gear, only to regret my decision to do so. Blizzard will have officialy downgraded everyones gear and levels for the second time with the new expansion. I bought the first expansion, and didn't ask questions. I leveled my character up, and upgraded my gear again. No big deal. I realize that WoW in all its great fun is a good game, but once again, it really does bring out the worst in people. I have seen people literally throw away their lives for this game, myself included when I played. But I never admitted that I was addicted when I played, Never would I admit that a video game was actually taking from me my grades at school, church contributions, and social life. Nobody who plays WoW actually admits this. Although people will defend that remark by saying that they indeed have lives outside the video game, and the more popular remark of "I have a girlfriend, so I must have a life." I have seen some of my friends literally miss out on real life golden opportunities because of this game. I even got to the point of calling my friends out on their indecision to succeed in some of these opportunities, but they always find a cover up excuse. Im fine with this, because I myself made the same excuses. Im not bashing WoW, im only dissapointed on its ability to corrupt the human thought process. A great game, but I have never seen a game pull people in as well as this one does.
