Yep. It's almost Galaxy time. I had some hands on time with the game at GameStop. It was just as awesome as I expected it to be. It looks like this will be one of those rare titles that will live up to the hype.
I can't believe that a year and a half has come and go already. I've spent so many days just wanting this, and it's nearly time!
So I spent all E3 week couped up taking in the news by the second. I have to say it wasn't the best E3, but at the same time, for me, I ended up getting everything I wanted. And I'm going to do a little highlight:
~Super Mario Galaxy.
Release date, loads of new footage, and a nice surprise: the suits are back! This has been my most anticipated game for two E3's now. I'm glad to see it won't be three times running. 11.12.07.
~Smash Bros Brawl
Release date, that's all I wanted as far as this goes.
~ Mario Kart Wii
Kind of figured we'd get this, there were a few rumors going around. Confirmation, video, screens, online races and battle, coupled with an early 2008 release? Well that's pretty neat.
~Little Big Planet
God damnit. I wish I could throw around a few hundred bucks and get this awesome damn game.
~Metal Gear Solid 4
See the description under LBP. I want a PS3, but for two games?! Maybe if the thing cost as much as a Wii I'd do it. I bought my Wii for a handful of titles anyhow.
There wasn't much elese I cared about. I wish Fallout 3, Fable 2, Endwar, Nights 2, and a few other 360 and PC titles got talked about, but there wasn't much. I know Fallout is a year away, and it will undoubtedly rule the next E3, but some new bits would have been nice. Oh, and Bioware's Sonic RPG, would have been nice to see that. I enjoyed the Halo 3 news, psyched about that, but I already had a date for that game, and I already played it too so I mean awesome. I would have really enjoyed and damn Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 360 demo. That game is going to rule, and getting a demo to kill the wait would really be friggin' nice. It's supposed to drop later today though, and that's awesome.
Anyway, Nintendo ruled the show for me. Hopefully TGS will bring some news on some non-Nintendo titles I care about.
Every time I come home from a LAN that's 360 heavy I just get this feeling like I need to have one. It's got so many awesome multiplayer games, and just awesome games in general. What motivates me even more is that a ton of sweet former PS3 exclusives have found their way to the system as well. It's cheaper than a PS3 and has a much better online network than any of the platforms, and Halo 3. Come on.
So I've convinced myself it's time to become a proud member of the Wii60 club. I'll probably be joing said club in July. Premium, used, 360 + LIVE, Geo Wars, and Lost Planet. Hell yea. Then some Dynasty Warriors Gundam, and . . . t3h HALO 3. God. I can't wait. Halo 3 is going to be awesome, and the wait for Brawl and SMG will be so small after that. Man. It's a good year.
