I do have many role models, I'll admit it. Marylin Monroe, J.K Rowling, Cleopatra, Queen Elizabeth I & II. But I do have a new one that I actually have something in common. Her name? Anne Frank.
We just got done reading her diary and now I have to write a research paper about her. But I've discovered that she was actually pretty cool. She was born on June 12, 1942 to a German soldier and his wife. She was a WRITER before and during the Holocaust (I'm a writer(wannabe) too so of course I'm psyched to hear this). She was forced into hiding with her parents, her sister, the Van Pels (not Van Daan), and an elderly dentist. They stayed hidden for TWO YEARS until someone mysteriously betrayed them to the Nazis. They were split up and in March of 1944 Anne and Margot, her sister, died of typhus in Bergen-Belsen, the concentration camp they were sent to.
For once in, like, ever(!) my dad and I are (for real this time) going on a REAL vacation! We're going to North Carolina tomorrow morning and I'll miss three days of school, but who really cares about school anyways? We're going to meet my sister and her mother and sister before my sister has her baby. I'm soooo nervous and yet soooo excited. Wish me luck!
