Robin Hood:  Someone fire an arrow through his head

It was like watching an un-funny Ant and Dec parody.

I lost count of the amount of films it ripped of.  Gladiator (a close-up of Robin gently stroking the flowers), The Matrix (accompanied by some hugely inappropriate music), Prince of Thieves itself, and the fighting on the stairs at the beginning even drew Buffy comparisons (The Gift: Glory battle) as I realised just how underrated BtVS's fight scenes are, especially when compared to this trash.

Robin's side-kick ("Much") is either gay or really camp.  I'm not against homosexuals, but Graham Norton (tw*t) could have easily played this cliched and so far, poorly written role.

I also learnt that woman in the 12th century had access to mascara and bleach with the appearance of what looked like a Hollyoaks bird kissing Robin in one of the opening scenes!

Aaaah!  This is just another example of how British television just can not produce ANYthing half credible, intelligent or gripping in the drama genre.  Episode one has been and gone and Robin is portrayed as a desperate, cheesey womaniser with a terrible script and boring storyline.

Rubbish.

Meanwhile...

Extra's second series has just started and nearly finished.  Yep, the classic "British 6-episode series".

It's been a bit of a hit and miss for me.  Hit: Steve Merchant as agent Darren and his side-kick "Barry off Eastenders".  He's stealing the show Gervais!.  Miss: Maggie's constant "uncomfortable situations" that see her putting her foot in everything are getting a bit predictable and contrived.  Hit: Steve Merchant and Ronnie Corbett doing coke in the toilet!  Brilliant.  Merchant: "It's all kicking off in here!" (as we see his head over the door of the toilet due to his ridiculously funny height.  And sure enough, this adds to the visual comedy as he stands next to Corbett who comes up to Merchant's waist.  Miss: David Bowie's song.  Sorry.  But, I love Bowie and was sooo looking forward to this ep.   His acting was great, but his "funny" song just came out of no where.  Cheap gimmick springs to mind.  Hit: Everytime Gervais says his mock catch phrase "Is he 'aving a laugh?".  It shouldn't be funny, but it is and that's the point.

"That Mitchel and Webb Look" is getting some overrated reviews.

Again, it's a hit and miss for me, with more "misses" than "hits" compared with the mostly funny Extra's.  Hit: The hilarious "Sir Digby Chicken Ceasar" sketches.  Miss:  Snooker commentators, like a poor man's "old drunk man" Fast Show sketch,  Numberwang...was midly funny once, just stop it now.

Gem out.

Well, I've just watched the BBC's new drama/comedy/action/Dr.Who-ish "Robin Hood.  Oh.  My. God.

Tonight sees the return of Friday Night with Jonathan Ross, who always gets great guests...

Ricky Gervais is on (again) tonight talking about the new series of Extra's ...

...which starts very soon too.  This series guest stars will include; Jonathan Ross himself (should be funny) ...

Harry Potter aka Daniel Radcliffe...

David Bowie! (cool)...

Sir Ian McGandalf...

Coldplay's Chris Martin ...(who's appearance on the Shaun of the Dead dvd was very funny)...

and Orlando Bloom ......who will be slating Jonhnny Depp and getting his ego bruised by Maggie, who doesn't fancy him.

Also coming soon is the bbc's new... Robin Hood

I really want to like this, I don't want to see another Dr. Who, in terms of quality.

I wonder if "The man" himself will appear in this series run of Friday Night with Jonathan Ross...

  ... I can but dream.

Dr. Gregory from BtVS!Look at that face! It's great.

This is William Monaghan and I'm backing him as the next big thing.  He could become as big as Michael Jackson (pre-monkey business).

I urge you all to visit his tv.com forum.

This isn't so much a review of Joss, more like a confession of love.

Knowing that Joss has a soft spot for Buffy's internet fan-base gives me, perhaps the false hope that he may one day read this "review" and realise just what Buffy...

GemBuffyfan must really love MovieTome and agree with every review we've ever written! What other reason could GemBuffyfan possibly have for not rating a single film?
