GAMES: GameSpot GameFAQs MOVIES: Metacritic Movietome Comic-Con

Well, we just put the carriage before the horse and bought a couple of new games to go with our big Christmas gift for the kids. But I couldn't pass it up. Out of curiosity, I went to Half.com to see what their asking prices were, and I ended up getting the two games I wanted for the price of one -- LittleBigPlanet and Valkyria Chronicles -- both new and sealed. Schweet.

No, it's not the GotY addition of LittleBigPlanet, but I don't think my son will notice or care. I can always download extra content later, and the savings was really needed. But I'm really excited. I know my daugter's really gonna dig Valkyria Chronicles, and I've been hoping to play it myself. Definitely a game you want to buy, too, since it doesn't look like something you can finish in a weekend.

Both of those are fantastic games, especially Valkyria Chronicles, though it's supposed to be pretty tough. I always go on Half.com to order games and CDs, you can't really beat their prices.

Valkyria Chronicles looks great, and I loved what I could play of LittleBigPlanet. Definitely good choices!

If your daughter doesn't like Valkyria Chronicles I know someone who would take it off your hands

Never heard of Half.com. I will have to check them out.

@ MJoanne: Teh wuh!? Really? Yeah, definitely check it out, especially if you like books and music. They're owned by eBay, but they've been around for a few years now. As opposed to eBay, you don't have to bid. People just put items up there at a set price, and it's first come, first serve. I've bought CDs and books from there where the shipping cost more than the item. I love it.

That's cool! Hope they enjoy the big surprise. I'll have to look into half.com next time I want to buy something.

Sounds like you've hit gold for the Christmas holidays! I've always paid a visit to half.com, though I usually never consider buying stuff there... o.0

YES! I'm so happy you picked up Valkyria Chronicles. I love that game to death -- it's hugely underrated. You'll love it. There's nothing quite like it anywhere else.

Always awesome to get good games and a bargain to boot!

I avoid "weekend" games like the plague. That's a total turn-off for me. This year alone, I've played very few games due to my work schedule...but I managed to get 74 hours out of Crisis Core for the PSP and 83 hours out of my recent FF7 save. Goodness knows how many hours FF12 will entertain me, hehe. I've yet to get out of Rabanastre, lol.

BTW, thanks for the mention of half.com. Just checked it out for a CD I've been looking to buy for a little while now and the price was too good to be true.

@ bluej33: Yeah, man. Of all the PS3 exclusives, Valkyria Chronicles is definitely the one game that has really wowed me. I can't wait to dive into it. It looks like the perfect blend of gameplay types.
