3. The Incredibles
Directed by: Brad Bird
Starring: Deirdre Warin, Ted Mathot, Ollie Johnston, Dennis 'D.J.' Jennings, Billy GuardinoIf every animated movie that came out was as good as this one... whew. What an incredible film. -
4. South Park: Bigger Longer & Uncut
Directed by: Trey Parker (II)
Starring: Trey Parker (II), Matt Stone, Isaac Hayes, Deb Adair, George ClooneyOne of my all-time favorite comedies, and it's animated to boot. -
5. Howl's Moving Castle
Directed by: Hayao Miyazaki
Starring: Chieko Baisho, Takuya Kimura, Akihiro Miwa, Tatsuya Gashuin, Ryunosuke KamikiA creative force, captivating at times. -
6. Robin Hood
Directed by: Wolfgang Reitherman
Starring: Andy Devine, Peter Ustinov, Brian Bedford, Pat Buttram, Candy CandidoMy favorite adaptaion of Robin Hood. Worth it along for the hillarious interactions between Prince John and his bootlicking companion Hiss. -
7. Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron
Directed by: Kelly Asbury, Lorna Cook
Starring: Matt Damon, James Cromwell, Michael Horse, Richard McGonagle, Charles NapierA really nice, uplifting movie. The main character really battles through a lot of adversity to make it back to his family... great effort from Dreamworks. -
8. The Animatrix
Directed by: Mahiro Maeda, Peter Chung, Andy Jones, Yoshiaki Kawajiri, Takeshi Koike, Koji Morimoto, Shinichiro Watanabe
Starring: Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Clayton Watson, Hedy Burress, T.C. CarsonAn intense look at the Matrix from the eyes of the past, the future, and the present. A phenomonal addition to the series. -
9. Spirited Away
Directed by: Hayao Miyazaki
Starring: Rumi Hiragi, Miyu Irino, Mari Natsuki, Takashi Naito, Yasuko SawaguchiSuperb visual storytelling. -
10. The Little Mermaid
Directed by: Ron Clements, John Musker
Starring: Jodi Benson, Christopher Daniel Barnes, Pat Carroll, Rene Auberjonois, Jason MarinDisney knocking it out of the park. -
11. Aladdin
Directed by: Ron Clements, John Musker
Starring: Robin Williams, Debi Derryberry, Jack Angel, Sherry Lynn, Peabo BrysonAn animated route directly inside Robin Williams brain.. amazing. -
12. The Rescuers Down Under
Directed by: Hendel Butoy, Mike Gabriel
Starring: Bob Newhart, Eva Gabor, John Candy, Tristan Rogers, Adam RyenA highly underrated movie that stars the likes of John Candy, George C Scott, and Eva Gabor. A great film, especially for the kids. -
13. Toy Story
Directed by: John Lasseter
Starring: Tom Hanks, Cody Dorkin, Bill Farmer, Gregory Grudt, Danielle JudovitsYet another example of how animators can pull the actors voicing the characters into the roles... Tom Hanks and Tim Allen are outstanding in the lead roles. -
14. Royal Space Force: The Wings Of Honneamise
Directed by: Hiroyuki Yamaga - DUPLICATE
A brilliant, cerebral sci-fi. A fledgling civilization takes its first steps into space. Amazing. -
15. Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children
Directed by: Tetsuya Nomura, Takeshi Nozue
Starring: Kyosuke Ikeda, Toshiyuki Morikawa, Takahiro Sakurai, Keiji Fujiwara, Ryun YuA little thin on story, but WOW... the animation is amazing, as in jaw-dropping amazing. A visual smorgasbord. -
16. The Transformers: The Movie
Directed by: Kôzô Morishita, Nelson Shin
Starring: Orson Welles, Leonard Nimoy, Robert Stack, Judd Nelson, Eric IdleWhile not my top rated movie on this list, it's echelons better than the live action horror-fest that came out recently. Orson Welles, Leonard Nimoy, Robert Stack... awesome cast. -
17. Beavis and Butthead Do America
Directed by: Mike Judge, Yvette Kaplan
Starring: Mike Judge, Cloris Leachman, Robert Stack, Jacqueline Barba, Pamela BlairHillarious work from Mike Judge... Robert Stack as the cavity-search-obsessed agent is priceless.
