LAN Parties Rock

Yesterday 8 of us got together at my brother's place along with 3 TVs and 3 Xbox 360s. As we networked the Xbox 360s together I had a flash back of the times I had during college playing with friends. Well, we played Halo 3 and Gears of War 2 all night long and order some BBQ Chicken Pizza for dinner. It was an extremely fun time. How about you guys, do any of you enjoy a good old-fashioned LAN party?

Halloween

Alright, so is anybody dressing up for Halloween? If so, who or what are you going as? Some friends of mine and I are going as the X-men this year. I'll be heading up the group as their deputy field leader; Scott Summers (aka Cyclops). I've got 2 parties to attend and it looks like its going to be a fun night!

That sounds like fun alright. Reminds of the time I had with my friends when we networked PCs in my home and played Quake 3. Good stuff.

Well as long as you keep your shades up you'll do just fine, Scott! Have fun. No halloween for me, it's birthday weekend for my wife, with the whole family coming this way. Well, that is creepy too! :-D

I love LAN partys more than online multiplayer gaming since you get to play with people you know.

I've never done a LAN party.
Have fun tonight!

I will put something on and pass out candy to the kids that come by this year. the last few years there have not been many until last year they started to come around again so I will cosplay it up again

3 XBOX 360 but not a single one PS3!?
I personally don't like LAN. I used to play a lot of PC games in internet café with my friends but when it comes to console, I'm all alone. internet play is my only choice and I really appreciate it.

You've been on a role with the costumes man. I'm looking forward to this. The Halloween that you became Garry Potter was damn classic!

Have fun Gary at the several parties

Its funny you should mention LAN parties. I have three HDTV's and was thinking of having one for my birthday. (in January). I'm going as the darkphoenyx tonight, I'm going to wreak havoc in the online world shooting zombies and maybe some covenant. Have fun tonight and don't take those sunglasses off!

LAN Parties are great, before the whole online gaming took over Halo 2 LAN parties is what i used to host at my hose was a constant. Great times. For Halloween i am dressed as a huge letter A, for Mr. Awesome since i got the nickname back in school and most know me as "Awesome Sergio" lol

I hate LAN Parties because though I have four controllers and two PS3's. Call of Duty only allows one player per console in LAN Party but glad you enjoyed yourselves, sounds really fun. Oh, and I was in Belrin on saturday. Damn the History Trips.

I didnt get into Halloween that much this year, unfortunately. BBQ chicken pizza sounds freaking awesome right about now.

Can't say I had a LAN party. Didn't do anything for Halloween this year actually. It was kind of sad. BBQ Chicken Pizza sounds good. That's awesome you guys went as the X-Men. I'll be honest though, I hate Cyclops. Nah, still awesome idea though.

Oh...I remembered you had that snuggie competition...I just saw a commercial for dog snuggies. Poor dogs that have to wear that.

@chandu83 - Sweet! How many people did you have playing Quake 3?

@Bigboss232 - Same here. We did that a ton in college but it's been a while since we've done this. Great times though.

@Bazza28 - As long as I have my visor on, I should be fine. Hopefully you have fun with the family coming over.

@benleslie5 - I did!

@60spaure - You know what, I think I do too. There is just something awesome about sitting next to your friends and playing together.

@ebbderelict - If you ever have the opportunity, I higly recommend it.

@Kleeyook - Well a PS3 wouldn't work with the Xboxs for a LAN party.

@AzelKosMos - Well there is always next year.

@SavoyPrime - Haha, thanks Ron. Once I get the pictures I'll have to post it in my next blog.

@tinoshke - I did!

@phoenyx9 - 3 HDTVs!! Man I want to come to your LAN party. Did you dress up as the Dark Phoenyx from the Xmen comic? I hope you had fun killin' some zombies. Speaking of zombies you should see the movie Zombieland.

@Mister__Awesome - I did that a lot with Halo 2 in college. I lived with three other friends and we hooked them all up and had some epic matches. I like the costume idea, it fits you perfectly.

@SGTiD1NG0 - Yeah, its unfortunate that there aren't more games that are LAN friendly like COD4. I guarantee that we'd be playing that game if we could.

@carljohnson3456 - BBQ chicken pizza is the best!

@Whitewolf725 - Not too many people like Cyclops. I take heat for it all the time from my friends. So you didn't just wear your Red Wings jersey and go as a fan? I haven't seen the snuggies for dogs. What is this world coming too...

There were 5 of us at times, but it was always one-on-one, because we only had two PCs in my room.
