So, I finished Condemned 2. And when I say "finished", I mean I got halfway through the very last level when I hit a glitch that made it impossible for me to beat the game . It was a fairly good game, but not as good as the first. The game lacks direction. Sometimes I had to walk around for an hour or two just trying to find out were to go . Although I just have bad sense of direction. But still, the game should have been more clear. Also, whenever you don't have a wepeon on you, the battle system turns into what resembles a boxing game, wereas the in the first game whenever you didn't have a wepeon the game's battle system had a more old-school beat-em-up vibe similar to the Streets of Rage games (except in first person and in 3-D). And, as I mentioned before, the last level was fairly bad. The game changed from horror game to FPS game, and it was rather glitchy. However, almost everything else about the game is great. The game has a great sense of horror and the story's great. It has a lot of wepeon variety and the game (aside from a few glitches) feels polished. But the problems I mentioned above bring the game down to a game that scores somewere in the 7-7.5 range.

I recently started up on Sonic and the Black Knight. So far, it's good. For those who haven't heard about it, take your standard newer Sonic game, and add swords. The result is Sonic and the Black Knight. Before I say anything more, I just need to start by saying that this game is every Wiimote-waggler-hater's worst nightmare . You have to waggle your Wiimote at least every few seconds, and some of the time it can't tell if you're waggling or not. Also, from what I've played, it's a pretty short game and it doesn't have a ton of replay value. If you can get past these problems, though, it really is a great game. The level design is solid, and as cheesy as it is, I like the game's take on midevil times. There are a few more minor issues as well, but the game feels like it's more than the sum of its parts. There's a fair amount of mission variety as well. On the Sonic scale of things, I'd say it's better than Unleashed but not as good as Secret Rings.

I also finished Final Fantasy IV: the After Years. It was a good game, but don't expect it to be as good as the original. My biggest issue with the game compared to the original was that it felt recycled. Some dungeons felt too similar to the original FFIV. If you can get past this, it's a solid RPG with good characters and a battle system similar to the original. It also adds a system were you can get any two characters in your party to team up with each other and do a super-powerful attack. For example, you can have Ceodore and Hooded Man (a man in your Party, I won't spoil who it really is) both combine their standard attack and create an attack called cross slash. It's hard to describe, really, but it's an interesting addition to the standard battle system of FFIV, but it just doesn't change things up too much. The story feels like it fits into the world of FFIV pretty well, though. The music is great, but it's recycled from FFIV. The graphics feel outdated. However, I am interested in the future DLC chapters. I already dowloaded Rydia's story, and I hope to download more. So, overall, it's solid, but nothing great.

Sorry if this is hard to read at times. In addition to me being really tired right now, GlitchSpot glitched up on me a few times while I was writting this.

"Sometimes I had to walk around for an hour or two just trying to find out were [sic] to go".

I cannot do that. I play games so little that if I'm stuck for more than like half an hour on most games, I consult a faq. The exception is when you've got a game that just begs to be explored, like Metroid Prime. But I play so little that I don't want to spend time wandering aimlessly around.

Anyway, the Condemned games have always sounded interesting to me, but Sonic and the Black Knight looks like a total joke. I played Secret Rings and thought it was pretty good, but I don't think I'd be able to respect myself if I played the new one.

And I actually started replaying Final Fantasy IV in anticipation of The After Years, but then I realized what a huge freaking grind it was. Oh well; glad you enjoyed it.

@Duder: Actually, your comment made me notice something. Although I generally don't like people who are too lazy to read a few paragraphs, I should be thankful that there are people that actually care about what I have to say. So, from now on, I'll probably just add in a tl;dr sentence at the end of each paragraph in my blog.

@bluej: Oh, I forgot to mention something: there's very little grinding in FFIV: the After Years. Granted, there is SOME, but not much. From what I've played, though, Rydia's story has more grinding in it.

I think I need to rent Sonic and the Black Knight. Not only does it sound pretty fun, but I've been neglecting Sonic in his later outings.

I think my main problem with RPGs is level grinding. I see you said FFIVtAY doesn't have too much, so I'll look into it some more.

Also. I really hate wandering around in games. If I'm in a good mood with time to spare, I'll usually find out what to do myself. But at 3 A.M if I'm trying to find the next save point and tired as heck it angers me quickly.

Yeah... I heard Condemned 2 was kinda mediocre.

But then again, I heard the same thing about Sonic, and that looked kinda good.
