Considering how young I am I never got a chance to play the original Punch Out!!. But, from what I've read in my Nintendo Power it's a great series that they think will continue to be just that-great. Anyway, what I wanted to know is if anyone hasplayed the original Punch Out!! and is excited for this new addition to the series. I want to learn a little bit of background and see if anyone thinks this'll be worth my 49.99. Leave a comment and tell me your previews for the upcoming Punch Out!!King Hippo

Im really excited about this game since the punch out series has always been one of my favorites. The games arent very long but the replay value is pretty good and with the new Title defense mode it should add a bit more to it as well. You might want to try one of the older ones on The Virtual Console to see if you like it since the gameplay is somewhat similar. People always tend to lump punch out in with games like fight night and ready 2 rumble but its not like those games at all. Its more of a puzzle game wrapped in a boxing exterior, with great characters and challenging gameplay. And since Nintendo power gave the new one an 8.5 and Official Nintendo Magazine gave it a 91% its looking pretty good. My advice is you should definitely check it out if you get a chance but im not gonna make any promises that it will be completely worth your $50, thats for you to decide and if you like the gameplay, i hope this helped you out a bit though.

I haven't played the original but I would be cautious of any game which depended so heavily on the accuracy of the Wii motion sensors, think about how innacurate the boxing in Wii sports was...

@Dinkyfish
Yea also what im afraid of. The Wii Boxing glove peripheral you can buy for it looks pretty sick tho. haha

Not a bad idea. I'm just worried it wont hav enough depth for me. I'll probably pick up Punch Out!! or Super Punch Out!! from the VC and try it, keeping in mind the new features the Wii version will have. But hey, if Nintendo Magazine and Nintendo Power think it's good I figure it will be. Seems your a fan tho... maybe you could give me a review after your purchase? Haha

WOW! GO play the old ones whenever you can. They do actually have depth. It involves, stragedy (finding out the weaknesses and movmeent of each opponent), Timing (gotta time when to attack and strike), and just a plain classic. It's fun. I would love to have a protable version of this game but sadly I don't think it exists....Anyways a good series (One of my top favorite retro games). Hopefully the Wii one will stick to the great formula while adding fun and great stuff.

Also note while I can't remember which one. One of the Wario Ware games have a minigame that'a punchout. Not the game exactly but an idea and look of the game. I wished they would have kept Mario as the Ref in the new version coming out....

Yea, I've heard that so I'll probably buy a VC game. If I don't get around to it I'll just wing it and buy the Wii Version lol. It's sounds really fun and pretty challenging so I'll probably get a kick out of it.
