Okami heads to Nintendo DS - From my comprehensive understanding of the Japanese language I can tell you that this is in fact Okami on the DS. I'm not sure if it'll be a remake of the first one or not, but I don't recognize any of the locations in these early screenshots, suggesting that it might be a full sequel. I can see inkpots too, so it looks like the brushwork that the original was known for will make an appearance. The DS seems like a perfect fit for Okami's brush powers, but I'm not sure how it will compare to the PS2 and Wii version in terms of graphics. These first screenshots look really good, but I'm going to have to see how it looks in motion first. It's scheduled for a 2010 release.
Disney acquires Marvel - Good thing I don't care about Marvel at all, or else I'd probably see this deal as blasphemous. On the gaming side of things: Marvel vs. Capcom vs. Disney kind of has a nice ring to it. Throw in an 8-bit Scrooge McDuck and it's a deal!
New Play Control! God of War - I mean......er..... See! It's not just Nintendo who are re-releasing all their old games. Granted, you can play Gamecube games on a Wii anyway, but does the world really need a re-release of the first two God of War games? Well yes, it would build up the hype for GoW III quite a bit. And they have HD visuals and trophies too. But you know what else would be good? BACKWARDS COMPATIBILITY!
NEW RELEASES
Most of the big releases don't hit here until later in the week, so here are some downloadable games no-one really cares about.

Ben There, Dan That! and Time Gentlemen, Please! (PC) - Two hilarious (but not G rated) point and click adventure games available on Steam. I've played (and got stuck on) the demo of Time Gentlemen, Please! and it's quite a fun game. It only costs $5 for both games and they apparently have Nazi dinosaurs. If that doesn't justify a purchase, I don't know what does!
Shadow Complex (XBLA) - It's that new 2D Metroid game Nintendo fans have been begging for. But they don't get it! HAHAHAHAHAHA! Oh wait, that's me.
Pilotwings (VC) - Apparently Pilotwings, the flight simulator originally released on the SNES, is out on Virtual Console. Apparently it's also Paul McCartney's favourite game which is, as a Kotaku reader points out, ironic as he also piloted Wings.
CHALLENGE MODE

Yes, another new section. Because my Most Wanted games list hardly ever changes. Anyway, I want to challenge myself with the games I play so in this section I will be suggesting some possible personal challenges and leave it up to the readers to choose my fate. So should I.....
Complete the second case in Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney IN FRENCH (note that I know barely any French whatosever) or
Beat the first zone of Sonic the Hedgehog using a dance mat (provided it's actually compatible)?
It's up to you now.
CLIP OF THE WEEK
You don't necessarily need to have played any Street Fighter game to enjoy this collection of hilariously stupid clips from the Street Fighter cartoon - mainly because it has barely anything to do with the games. In the words of M. Bison: "THIS IS DELICIOUS!"
Did you miss..... my limericks about Sega Mega Drive games?
Comments
Disney buys Marvel? That'll be.... interesting.
I say go for the Sonic challenge.
I've loved the original on PS2.
Hope DS game will be a new game and not a porting.
@kbaily - Square are probably the worst offenders. It's good to see that they've finally wised up and are going to bring some of the old FF games to the Virtual Console.
@red0584 - "HULK SMASH PUNY JONAS! AND HIS BROTHERS!"
@TissueShoe - Well it did take a while for Nintendo to get backwards compatibility right. And if you look at the DSi, they haven't really got it.
@Aidan129 - "HULK SMASH PUNY MOUSE!"
Okami on DS? Sounds cool to me. I'm cautiously optimistic for the graphics. Shrinking down the beautiful art design of Okami onto the DS screen sounds like a serious challenge.
I made a pact that I'd never sell a console again, at least to buy another one. Therefore, I'll still have my PS2. Either way, though, backwards-compatibility is a convenience. Sony seemed to have missed that memo this time around.
