I was considering not doing this blog, but I am doing it anyway....

Today we buried my first uncle. He was 69. I myself was not all that close to him, but he was my fathers oldest brother and my godfather. He was in the navy so he got a military send off as well. So when they played taps I saw my father lose it for a little bit and it brought a tear to my eye as well. Rest in peace Uncle Dan....

On another note, I did enjoy seeing relatives but there has got to be a better way to bring everyone together like that....

I said that I would tell you how things went. So here it is...


I was not exactly correct as to where we were going but it was similar (I thought we might have been going to Cedar Point, but the plan was to go to Pioneer Water Land (a local water park)). Unfortunately the money that my wife had set aside (in my top dresser drawer, which I didn't even know it was in there...) went missing. So we couldn't go. We have our suspicions as to who might have taken it, but we are not positive. I did unload my drawer and it did give me an excuse to organize it. But I did not find the missing money. All is well though. I enjoyed the day of just relaxing at home. The next day (Sun the 3rd), my parents were going to take us out to dinner at a local winery (no I didn't have any wine or beer... I hate the taste of it....). I though maybe I would see my grandfather and one of my aunts. When I got there it ended up being most of my relatives! It was great! After dinner we went to my parents for cake and ice cream. After we got done at my parents we went to the beach and swam. (Well.... not me. I just watched. I am not that fond of the beach. If I swim, I prefer pools.) Just as we were getting done with the beach, my wife and a friend of hers went off to get some ice cream from DQ. They got everybody something and me something a little different. In all the weekend was a great one. I really enjoyed it!

Well.... as the title says, my vacation is over. However I did get to rest and relax for the most part. I was supposed to go back on Mon. but someone needed to have a different day off so Monday was offered to me for me to be off. So I told my wife about it and she got the day off as well. She also had $100 more than she had expected in her check. So since she has never been to Niagara Falls and we only live about 3 hours away... We all took our first family vacation trip on Monday to go and see the Falls. It may have only been a day trip, but it was a first for us and our kids to do like that together. We didn't do a whole lot due to limited funds, but it was great going to see and do something like that together. Today was my first day back to work.

In other news... I was told to get Sat. off of work. Sat is going to be my 30th birthday (or at least the 30th anniversary of my birthday). I have been told that everyone is doing something special for me. I am not sure what as of yet. They tell me that I am going to have fun and that I will enjoy it. Through what I have heard here and there I think I know what it is. But I am not 100% sure. All I know for sure it that we are going out of town. Which works for what I am thinking it might be. I will let you know how it goes after it happens. The day after (on Sun.) my parents have offered to take us out to dinner for my birthday. So it is going to be a good weekend this weekend.
