Haha. No, its just not that simple I'm afraid. I'm a man if few words so I'll get right to the point: On Monday, Dec 18th I will embark on an epic quest to United States Air Force Basic Training!

The real quick answer to, "Why join the air force?" is I was tired of spending every non working, waking moment of my life in front of the screen playing (raiding)WoW. I also had no motivation to quit, yet when I was growing up, loved space and NASA. So I figured I'd kill 2 birds with 1 stone and force the air force to breaking my crack addiction.

So thats my life update. Before I go away again I just want to say a short few general 'shout-outs', even if they are 2 years late.

Sentinelrv... wowie. you are the freakin man. words cannot describe how dedicated you are to honestly making GameSpot and the Headcrab Union a better place. you will be a rock solid awesome leader in the real business world.
Also, thank you GameSpot for ALWAYS delivering the finest in video gaming reviews, news, etc. Unlike... other sites.... you stick to one topic and deliver it with utmost professionalism, and you aren't afraid of giving an honest review. Please always remember to stick to your guns and avoid the trap of giving any remotely good game an editor's choice award, as doing so vastly diminishes its value... *cough*other site*cough* I will be a visitor for life

in case you didnt know, people are going nuts trying to find Nintendo DS, Slim PS2, and Xbox's. if you didnt know this, here are some examples just from today:

1. a guy comes in to my GameStop pleading that we have PS2's. of course we dont. why does he need them? because he has 2 up for an ebay auction, and does not actually have any. *sigh*
2. a guy comes in looking for DS games, of course we have them. i ask if he had enough luck to find the system, he says he has 2 and that he is going to sell the other on ebay. i ask, 'have you ever used ebay?' he says, 'no, how does it work?' *double sigh*
3. we close at 10 PM. a lady starts hysterically knocking on the door at 10:03. we ignore her for like 20 sec, then she starts yelling for us to come over. i come over and see that she is holding 2 $100 bills flat to the window. 'i got to have a PS2, give me one of those right there!' i say, 'those are just display boxes (dumb***)' she says, 'WHAT!' blah blah blah, the rest is not important, but she was totally willing to just hand me the $200 for the $150 PS2.

looking back, i should have done 1 of 2 things:

1. pretend make love to the PS2 box and then walk away
2. say, 'ok, ill hand it to you as you hand me the money.' i would still give her back the $200 after she realized it was just an empty box (i dont want to go to jail or loose my job after all), but it would still be great

diablo, then diablo 2... now WoW... all took over my life. Diablo 2 did it for over 2 years, but nothing like WoW is now. i spend every waking moment playing it

oh, and if you dont want WoW b/c you swear by not paying a monthly fee..... let me tell you something. i swore by that notion too.... untill i played the beta, and i was totally sold. the game is totally easy to get into, and people are really helpful if you dont know where to go
