Well I haven't experienced it first hand (being not in America and all!), but from what we get in the UK I do think the massive campaigning is a bit pointless. The majority of people stay loyal to one party anyway, and to win the swing voters the candidates just need to publicise their views in national forums and maybe have a few TV debates on key issues. The constant touring and campaigning seems a bit pointless to me. Myself, I'm rooting for McCain. How about you Geo?

I'll be glad when it's over too. I live in Canada and it's all over the news here too We do have rules up here on how much is allowed to be spent on campaigns. I totally agree though: there are way better things to spend money on!

Yep, I'll be voting for McCain myself.....more so to keep things honest and not have one party, the Democratic party, to dominate both houses of Congress (in big majorities) and the Presidency. Sure, I've bought into the whole checks and balances thing, and you know, it definitely makes sense that the best overall and palatable to most of the country legislation comes from a divided government who has to compromise with each other to get things done.

Thank god I'm not there. I can't even imagine what's happening there right now. I live in Macedonia and every day on the news I hear: Obama, McCain...
