Hello Anne I'm sorry to have missed on a bunch of your blogs but for some reason this is the first update from your that has shown in my feed from ages. It's happening with a lot of other people, I'm sorry. Not a big fan of movies here, but there are a bunch there that I've watched and enjoyed. Two I could watch over and over again are Beauty and the Beast and Die Hard with a Vengeance. Hugs

How can you even come up with such a list?! It'll drive me crazy just to list down a top 20.
LOVE: 100, 96, 93, 92, 90, 84, 75, 72, 71, 69, 68, 66 (yep, I'm a sucker for rom-coms )
LIKE: 98 (X-Files II was meh), 97 (couldn't watch this when I was a child), 95, 88, 79, 78, 76, 74, 73, 61
All the others either I haven't seen or didn't care much for. Looking forward to seeing the remaining 60!

wow, what an intense blog. i've started to write a list of my favourit 100 movies as well, but i'm nowhere close to finishing it. out of these i've seen "sin city", "four brothers", "notting hill", "finding nemo", "almost famous", "catch me if you can", "babe", "pleasantville", "big", "burn after reading", "no country for old men", "citizen kane", "speed", "confessions of a dangerous mind", "a time to kill", "beauty and the beast", "die hard with a vengeance", "the fugitive", "crash", "erin brokovitch", "when harry met sally", "chasing amy", "scream", "unbreakable", "hotel rwanda" and "serenity". "hotel rwanda" would even make it to my top ten and i like all of the movies you've mentioned except for maybe "no country for old men", because i'm still angry they didn't gave us a proper ending and "unbreakable" because it failed to reach the great quality of "sixth sense" and i thought that samuel l. jackson was quite a bit overacting.

I really want to see Jaws. It's an old movie that I'd actually wouldn't mind watching. I've watched Notting Hill, and I found it pretty funny. Hugh Grant can make me laugh with any movie he's in. I have Finding Nemo. I used to love watching it when I was younger. We started watching Happy Gilmore in my Science class, but we never finished it. I remember watching Stepmom. It was a pretty good movie. Babe was just on tv 10 minutes ago. I like 10 Things I Hate About You. It's one of my favourite movies. I love Serenity. I love the fighting scene with River.

Although you have some good picks in there, too many of them are typical for my tastes. I actually have a complete list of my Top 120 on Flixster. com, but I never would have considered blogging them. Thats just too much info.

I love your choices.. most of them!!! Wow.. you actually like citizen kane! I thought I was like the only one!

I'm gonna random comment because I haven't seen all of these movies. But first I would like to point out that I love both The Godfater AND Clueless. You're not alone!!

The name Julia Gulia will always make me laugh. Best. Name. Ever.
The shark in Jaws was named Bruce.

Sin City is one of my favourite movies ever.

I've been to a place where some of the filming of Notting Hill was done.

Finding Nemo is one of the greatest Australian exports ever. It makes me proud to say I come from Australia.

Happy Gilmore is my third favourite Adam Sandler movie. 1st is Billy Madison, 2nd is 50 First Dates.

Catch Me If You Can has Ellen Pompeo in it and she always makes me laugh in it.

I really wanted to see Burn After Reading but I never got around to it.

Speed is just a really good movie. Like... really really good.

10 Things I Hate About You - One of the best high school movies ever. Also my favourite appearance of Heath Ledger.

Beauty and the Beast is definitely in my Top 5 of Disney movies.

I've never seen The Fugitive. I really want to though because of an add from John Krasinski.

Scream is an awesome movie. Mad love for it.

Serenity is one of my favourite movie's ever too. I was so sad about the TV series and this movie just proved its awesomeness.

I've noticed that you seem to have a lot of movies with Drew barrymore, Bruce Williams and Samuel L. Jackson in them. Good choices

Interesting list! I would suck to do such a list myself but I sure enjoy yours. The first one I know is Groundhog day. I used to like it a lot but I wouldn't think of it honestly... I can like Hugh Grant sometimes (Bridget Jones, About a boy) but his romantic comedies are just not for me... Finding Nemo was cute. And so sad in the beginning... Love Almost Famous - always reminds me of "Tiny Dancer" by Elton John, a song I really like. Catch me is you can was nice but forgettable to me. And I never saw babe. Loved Malcom X and I like Pleasantville. Big was OK but I wouldn't want to rewatch it. Burn after Reading and NO Country for Old Men, I both loved. Citizen Kane, cool choice, I agree. I used to like Die Hard but I am a little shocked that I did by now. I like the Fugitive. I am going to watch Crash soon and I thought Erin Brocovitch was OK. Harry and Sally is a nice movie. I want to see Chasing Amy. Never saw Scream. To wuss, I guess. A Few Good Men is a good movie. Unbreakable was exciting as I remember but I don't love it. And I love Serenity. Wow, I am shocked, all the others I don't know. It will be nice to see your higher choices.

Hey. I love the list so far, seen most of them! I see you have like a few of Julie Roberts, I love her!

a few good men definitely my fav from this list, and my 2nd fav is notting hill. then when harry met sally and then catch me if u can. i dont have a weird taste in movies but i do love love older movies and i dont really watch anything new. and thats why people think im not very up to date with my taste. but its the same with music so i dont consider myself as weird otherwise great list, i've seen them all

Four Brothers is a really underratred movie. It's good too, better then you'd think. Stepmom will always be a classic for me. Beauty and the Beast is my favorite Disney movie ever made, I can still watch it today and feel enthralled. And of course I love Srenity. I'll always remember Finding Nemo as one of the most beatiful Pixar films, the effects are some of the best I've ever seen. I must admit though I hate Sin City, that film noir type thing is just so repulsive to me. Can't stand it. The Scream trilogy is utter garbage in my opinion but compared to a lot of other horror movies it's...less murder and skin which is usually all horror movies every are.

mackymacaspac: Would you believe me if I said I made this list in less than an hour? . Boredom meets the flu.
Posted Oct 12, 2009 2:26 pm PT
True, the Sixth Sense was better but compared to The Village, Unbreakable is masterpiece.
Posted Oct 12, 2009 2:27 pm PT
12678: Maybe you should make one too . Hmm, I always thought Speed was Die Hard on a bus . Of course it was written by Joss so I guess that makes a diffence.

grace87: Citizen Kane is classi.c, and a pretty damn good one .

pirateJESS: hehe love your randomn comments Finding Nemo is Australian? Didn't know that.
Posted Oct 12, 2009 2:40 pm PT
mafalada: Scream is not scary... at all .
Posted Oct 12, 2009 2:41 pm PT
GM: You've sene them all? Impressive.
Posted Oct 12, 2009 2:42 pm PT
It's too bad they don't make the Disney Classics like Beauty and the Beast, the Lion King and Pocahontas anymore. I loved Scream 1 (in a guily pleasure sort of way) but I'm not a fan of most horror/slasher movies either. Like Saw. That's not a movie, it's torture porn.

Really cool countdown! There were some movies that I didn't expect to be on, like Romy and Michele's High School Reunion. The Wedding Singer is a movie that show cases how awesome Adam Sandler is and Happy Gilmore too. Now, his movies aren't too great. Just a little too repetitive. I love Speed. Sandra Bullock was my favourite actress. 10 Things I Hate About You!!!!!!! *jumps up and down* YAY!!!!! This is me wondering if you're going to include the VM movie on your countdown.
