Title: Sue Sylvester, Glee

TOP 100 FAVORITE CHARACTERS: I was in the right mood for this;

24. Emerson Cod

"Oh HELL no!"

Photobucket

Show: Pushing Daisies

Portrayed by: Chi McBride

Backstory: Ned's business partner. He likes money, knitting and pop-up books.

Why: Emerson is Pushing Daisies' dark cloud of sarcasm and bitterness. Underneath it all he's not such a bad guy. He's often willing to give advice to Ned and Chuck concerning their relationship problems (sometimes he'll even serve as a by-proxy hand holder) and his scenes with Olive are always heartwarming.

Best episode: Frescorts

Favorite moment: Every time he refers to Olive as "Itty-bitty" and Chuck as "Dead Girl".

Memorable quote:

Emerson: (about Ned's love life) I must admit I am curious. Hell, before Dead Girl came along, I didn't know what you liked, or if you liked, or if you had anything to like with. For all I know, you could have been one of those people who was born with both but didn't use either.

23. Paris Geller

"You don't fall in love with people who make you want to crap your pants!"

Show: Gilmore Girls

Portrayed by: Liza Weil

Backstory: My guess? She'll end up becoming the female House. Either that or the first female president.

Why: At the beginning of Gilmore Girls Paris was scary, mean and kind of a b*tch. By end? Scary, mean and kind of b*tch. Love how Paris developed, she became one of Rory's best friends and found a guy who was just as quirky and neurotic as she was, but at the same time stayed true to her original character.

Best episode: Run Away, Little Boy

Favorite moment: Her reaction to her rejection/acceptance to Harvard. In S3 she is rejected. She freaks out, has a meltdown and tells everybody on national television she just had sex (and that Rory is still a virgin). Four years later she's accepted and screams: "BITE ME HARVARD, BITE ME!!!" and is tempted to reject them just like they rejected her. Personality-wise I'm just like Paris, I am all for a little misplaced directionless revenge. Always even the score, even if it no longer matters.

Memorable quote:

Girl: Is it raining out?
Paris: (drenched) No, it's National Baptism Day! Get your tubes tied!

22. Rachel Berry

"I want everything too much"

rachel.jpg Rachel Glee image by x_sierra_x

Show: Glee

Portrayed by: Lea Michele

Backstory: Rachel's not a homophobe. In fact, she has two gay dads. They mixed their sperm and till this day, the identity of her real father is still unknown. (Well, one of them is black and Lea Michele isn't so it's fairly obvious. Still a cute joke though).

Why: Rachel seems to be an 'either you love her or you hate her' character. In my opinion Rachel's one of the best written and complex teens ever. It's so incredibly refreshing to see a female lead do something other than play the love interest and whose storylines do not completely revolve around getting the guy. Yes, she has a crush on Finn but her main goal in life is to be a star and she's absolutely convinced she'll become one.
Sure, Rachel's flawed. She's bossy, high maintenance, can throw a hissy fit when she doesn't get the solo and is socially tone deaf. But the most important is that she knows she has flaws and owns up to them. And that, makes her the most self-aware teenager ever.

Best episode: Pilot, The Rhodes Not Taken, Mash-Up (so far).

Favorite moment: Maybe This Time with the Cheno.

Memorable quote:

Rachel: Because there's two things America needs right now, that is sunshine and optimism... also angels!

21. Ephram Brown

"I find it's best when dealing with any unfamiliar bully to strike early with sarcasm. Yeah, it makes them wonder if I have some butt-kicking prowess that they're unable to detect."

Photobucket

Show: Everwood

Portrayed by: Gregory Smith

Backstory: As the series' protagonist, Ephram is still dealing with his mother's death, forging a relationship with his previously distant father.

Why: I simply adore him. Confident in his awkwardness, unsure of his life-long goals, devoted to his sister and self-deprecatingly funny.

Best episode: The Unveiling

Favorite moment: His tragic flaw.

Memorable quote:

Kyle: Screw you.
Ephram: You know, one of these days you're going to run out of fake profanity and start using real profanity, and you don't want to do that, because let's face it, I'm from New York and we pretty much invented it.

20. James "Sawyer" Ford

"Son of a b!tch!"

sawyer.jpg Sawyer image by piper_lulu

Show: Lost

Portrayed by: Josh Holloway

Backstory: Remember when your father murdered your mother and then killed himself while you were hiding under the bed. No? James Ford sure does. His life was ruined by a conman named Sawyer who stole all his parents money. He wrote a letter to Mr. Sawyer swearing that one day he would make him pay for what he did to his family. Somehow he ended up becoming the man he was hunting for (the human mind's a mysterious thing) and adopted the alias "Sawyer".

Why: The only way Sawyer could have been higher is if he wasn't stuck in the Triangle from Hell. Nevertheless he remains to be the Lost character who has grown the most over the years. From a selfish douche bag to a hero in his own way. A lot of the credit for Sawyer's development goes to Josh Holloway who has managed to make me care about Sawyer's journey every step of the way. He's seriously one of the most underrated actors on Lost, probably because he's "the hot one" (that's general fan girls' opinion, Sawyer actually doesn't do if for me in that way). Anyway, I cannot wait to find out what will happen to him next season.

Best episode: Confidence Man, LaFleur

Favorite moment: Conversation with Jack about Christian. (S1 finale). WATCH IT! One of the best scenes ever and not just on Lost.

Memorable quote:

Jack: Michael wants to keep it small. Me, Kate, Hurley, and him.
Sawyer: Yeah, well "him" says that even though Pippi Longstocking and the damned Grape Ape are ideal candidates for the Dirty Dozen - I'm just saying we might want to bring the Red Beret.

Favorite Nicknames:

  • International House of Pancakes (Hurley)
  • Captain Falafel (Sayid)
  • Crouching Tiger and Hidden Dragon (Jin and Sun)
  • Reject from VH1 Has-Beens (Charlie)
  • The Artist Formerly Known As Henry Gale (Ben)

19. Dr. Perry Cox

"May I present to you... Man Not Caring!

drcox.jpg dr cox image by shamus70

Show: Scrubs

Portrayed by: John C. McGinley

Backstory: He's just as screwed up as the rest of the Scrubs gang (as Carla once put it: Me - dead mom. J.D. - dead dad. Elliot - emotionally abusive parents. Dr. Cox - emotionally and physically abusive dead parents which he may have killed; no one's sure.)

Why: There is no one - and I do mean NO ONE - who can rant like Dr. Cox. He has made a true art form out of ranting. But it's not just his sense of humor and the over pronunciation of words (really, really, ruh-eally). John C. McGinley is a brilliant actor, and really gives morals to the show, giving the program a much deeper appeal, and a broader variety of great characteristics, enabling Scrubs to excell on so many levels.

Best episode: My Lunch

Favorite moment: Payback is a b*tch, the rant song and how everyone is funny

Memorable quote:

Dr.Cox: I suppose I could riff a list of things that I care as little about as our last week together. Lemme see, uhh.... Low-carb diets. Michael Moore. The Republican National Convention. Kabbalah and all Kabbalah-related products. Hi-def TV, the Bush daughters, wireless hot spots, 'The O.C.', the U.N., recycling, getting Punk'd, Danny Gans, the Latin Grammys, the real Grammys. Jeff, that Wiggle who sleeps too darn much! The Yankees payroll, all the red states, all the blue states, every hybrid car, every talk show host! Everything on the planet, everything in the solar system, everything everything everything everything everything everything, everything that exists, past, present and future, in all discovered and undiscovered dimensions....Oh! And Hugh Jackman

Just a quickie;

My thoughts on V:

  • Too much squeezed into one hour, should have been a two-parter.
  • If there's any justice in the world, we'll get a Juliet vs. Inara smackdown before the end of the season.
  • Laura Vandervoort plays a better alien here than on Smallville.
  • Alan Tudyk was great!
  • Tyler was annoying but Kim Bauer has taught us that kids from heroic characters who save the world/America are always annoying.
  • How much money do you want to bet the Visitors are behind Swine flu?

Judgement: hopeful but not completely sold yet. (Note to writers, a guest appearance by Michael Emerson will go a long way).

Yes Jason Dohring definitly stole my heart, he's one of the hottest teenshow acteurs. In the beginning I didn't like him very much. Even though I have a thing for the bad boys he was just a little bit to psycho. But luckily the writers dialed this...
