Uncharted Rocks, Hitman blows and I hate Lava - Gaming Update of the week 6/14

So, I decided to try some game demos this week. The only reason is because I didn't buy said games, and I've heard great things about both Hitman: Blood Money and Uncharted: Drake's Fortune.

Let's start with the good first shall we?

Uncharted. Yeah, I know, I'm a year or so behind on this one. I decided to check it out, I mean I enjoy some shooters, and honestly, E309 made me more interested in the game, because of how great Uncharted 2 looked during Sony's press conference.

I played and beat the demo, not once, not even TWICE, but Thrice! I beat the demo on all three available difficulties Easy, Normal and Hard. Well, what does that exactly mean? I enjoyed my experience... The graphics, control, and even the tiny bit of story that was served up impressed me. The main character has ...well... character - Something I was fearing before I played the game. Drake seemed to look like some random college guy - not really somebody I wanted to play as.

I know it was a demo - so hopefully the one and only issue I had with the game was addressed in the final form. The platforming was a tad bit iffy...not the controls, just the fact that if you even so much as tapped the analog stick the wrong way, you were sent flying off a platform.

Needless to say, I added Uncharted 1 and 2 to my wishlist ...

I also finished Too Human this week. Great Game, I got all the achievements with the Help of a good friend. My written review should be up soon for the game.

Hitman for the 360... oh god... I don't even really want to talk about it too much... The gameplay was alright, the story lacked and so did the graphics. I understand it's nearly a 2 year old game, however even 2 years ago there were titles on the 360 that made that game look embarassing. I hated the way the game presented itself too - the random enemies seemed all the same, and the cutscenes were very poorly directed.

I will NOT be adding any hitman game to my wishlist... I've heard about the series for a while, I guess it's just one of those series that doesn't click with me.

Oh and Lava? Yeah, I ****ing hate Lava.

Since my High School career has officially ended, I have started the Summer of RPGs! (I have a massive backlog of my favorite genre to get too). I started critically acclaimed Mass Effect yesterday.

Aside from the fact that I'm completely blown away by this game, I hate Lava.

What does this mean exactly? Well, I spent about 9 hours doing every single sidequest I need to do before I moved on with the story (Chapter 2). Every planet I visited never had any deadly terrain, so naturally, when I get to the first planet I need to for the main story, I don't think anything of the lava. I get about half way done with the planet on the Mako, and I rive right into the Lava.

I hear the dreaded death scene, and it takes me ALL THE WAY BACK to the BEGINNING of the planetary exploration. Needless to say, I was pretty upset about that. Well, now I know what NOT to drive in.

I just wish that it wasn't such a hard penalty for driving into lava... Bioware should have just amde the Mako take damage as time goes on, much like it normally does in a gunfight.

As for Gaming Purchaces:

I only bought 1 game this week, it was the newly released Fallout Trillogy for the PC - Which contains Fallout 1, Fallout 2, and Fallout Tactics. I'm pretty excited to play Fallout 1 and 2 before Fallout 3. I'm weird about playing sequels I didn't play the orginal games for. I got this disc for a cool $20.

The End.
