Batman Begins was a great movie. But The Dark Knight Makes it look silly.

In gotham a new "bad guy" who calls himself The Joker robbs a bank owned by the mafia in an amazingly well directed first scene. Batman/Bruce Wayne, played once again by Christian Bale takes the task to catch this thief, but it´s certanly esier said than done. The joker, played by Heath Ledger (I´ll get to that later) is a criminal mastermind who is not after money but frankly enjoys what he does, putting people in his "Social Experiments" which makes some realy intence and great scenes.
In this movie Christopher´s brother Jonathan Nolan (who allso co-wrote "Memento") is allso writing the script. The dialouge is improved greatly from the first movie and it is probably thanks to him. Christopher though is a very talented director which he realy shows here, the hospital scene is one example. As we go to the acting performances we all know where I´m going with this, Bale is great, Holmes being replaced by Maggie Gyllenhaal(Which does a better performance overall), Morgan Freeman does his best role in years, Caine is convincing, Aaron Eckhart makes a chilling performance but the whole show was stolen by Heath Ledger (R.I.P), when his name was showed in the credits everybody was cheering. It is truely the best performance of the year, and probably in many years, the way he talks, walks, and reactsis just frightening to watch. He is scary and funny at the same time. As soon as Ledger is on the screen you are simply spellbound, the Nolan brothers have written sutch amazing dialouge for him, and together with the way he performs it... it´s just unexplainable, the oscar is just wating for him, and it reminds us that one of our times most promissing young actors have left us. It didn´t feel like Batman or Bruce Wayne was in themovie at all,but that´s probably because Ledger is just... it´s like Heath is not in the movie, that´s how good he is.
It is probably wierd that a whole review is centered around one man and his performance, but he deservs it. What a way to end a career. And as the credit´s rollon the screen I don´t want to leave the theatre. A tribute must allso be made to the stuntman who lost his life during the shooting.

And another thing that has to be mentioned is the music. It reminds of Paul Thomas Anderssons "There Will Be Blood" with that sort of alarm thingy, and when suddenly in the middle of a scene it just turns quiet. The Dark Knight is an amazing experience. It is not often a sequel is better than the first movie, some say that the sequel to movies like "The Godfather", "Alien" and "Terminator", but I don´t agree on that. The only one I can think of right now is "Spider-Man 2" that was better than the original. But now we have another one for the count, The Dark Knight is deffinatly better than the original.

I never thought I would say this about a superhero movie, or about an action movie overall but it´s the best movie of the year, and together with "No Country for Old Men"and "There Will Be Blood" it is the best movie in many years. It deservs a lot of oscars, and it will with no doubt be a ****c that will grow with the times, I ever dare to call it a timeless masterpiece that will be remembered forever.

Rating: 5/5 or 9/10

Februari was last time I made a new Post Blog? Christ... It´s been allmost 5 months. The Oscar a long over and I can tell you that I had about 6 correct guesses I think. The reason I havn´t posted a blog in a while is... there is no reason. I just havn´t had time. I havn´t been very active in the "Movie Industry" since the oscars. I havn´t watched as many movies and not posted as many reviews as I used to. But now i think I´m coming into it agian. Maybe I just needed a little break.

So to look at this year so far. I´m disapointed with this movie year so far. The best I´ve seen is Iron Man and that doesn´t say that mutch. It was a great movie but is that as good as it gets? I´ll just wait and see what is to come the next 6 months of the year since that is the time where the best movies are usualy released.

I´m looking forward to "Righteous Kill" which will be released in September. It has Al Pacino and Robert DeNiro in it and just that is enough for you to want to see it. My expectations where lowered though when I saw that it had the same director (John Avnet) who directed 88 Minutes. But I´ll give him another chance and se how it turns out. One thing that has been on my mind is that i havn´t managed to see the new Indiana Jones movie yet. I´m a fan of the series, especialy the first one so i should realy have seen the new one by now.

Anyone else depressed over that The Wire has ended? Well I am. It is one of my favorite shows and I hated to see it end. Just trying to make the post longer right now but i guess it´s useless. I will probably post more blogs now then i´ve done in the last 6 months so maybe i´ll here from you in a comment or something.

Righteous Kill
88 minutes was probably one of the worst movies Pacino ever starred in. There was nothing wrong about his performance though. DeNiro has not been in his best when it comes to acting the last few years. Pacino has been good but he has chosen the...
