I have never EVER EVER felt so betrayed by Sony and Square-Enix as today.
After the dark days, the lack of games, the mass of mediocrity, I ALWAYS believed in Sony solely because I knew FFXIII was always in the works.
Microsoft completely blew my mind when it announced FFXIII for 360. I know I own both systems, but I have never BEEN SO MAD AT SONY. I really don't know what they could announce tomorrow that could even compare with this.
As far as I'm concerned, this is the end of the console wars. It proves that 360 knows what it has to do and gets things done. Sony just lets itself be destroyed. I have been a Sony loyalist for years and years and for it to all come crashing down on a single day in a matter of seconds. Sorry if I sound retarded but I had to let off steam and I am infuriated with Sony AND Square-Enix. Looks like it's time for me to get Live.

On a more positive note...trying to put that news behind me...
I'm very pleased with the way Fallout 3 is looking. It looks like a blast, better than Oblivion. I haven't decided what console to buy it on yet though.
The other game that really caught my attention was Fable II. Wow, that game looks like a blast I can't wait. And of course...Gears of War 2, a must-have.
As I start to calm down, all I can say is - Sony better have something really, REALLY big up their sleeves for tomorrow

Blace has a point. They want more money and the fan base for 360 is alot bigger.

Gaming for devs is more about money than pushing for their best. Especially this gen. FFXIII may be an exception and will push the hardware. If they can do that, then there is no harm. If I see one more mutlitplatform piece of garbage however (Flame me, I like exclusives out of consoles...since that's why the consoleS are there.) FFXIII will be my last FF...Let's hope it does good. :3

Lol, I was completely blindsided by the announcement. I was in a group chat with 3 of my friends on msn and we were all like HOLY S**T!!!!!!!! I busted out laughing 
I thought it mightve been the new Halo announcement (Where the EF was BUNGIE!!!!!!!) but then Ive seen a couple of screens from FF13 and saw the blond dude with the beanie on and Im like "Holy S**T! Sony just lost their biggest exclusive!!!" and laughed for atleast 10 minutes straight.

Blace: I understand what you mean. Honestly this blog was mostly my instant fury...but I must say I feel betrayed by both still. In Square-Enix's case, I understand that they want to make money. I'm all for it. It's not even so much the fact that it's coming to 360 (though I was very mad). As I said, I own a 360. It's the manner in which SE planned this newsbreak. First of all, they already had 3 jRPG's heading to the 360. I felt reassured in the start because SE was giving 360 a few great RPGs and was keeping the golden FF series for PS3.
But when the President walked back over and said we have one more announcement...I love Square-Enix, I've been a fan for many many years. But that is a flat-out public embarassment to Sony, and I expected more than that. If they were going to announce it for the 360, it would be nice if they did it with a little more dignity...
Instead...they brought out the LONGEST trailer shown so far in that manner...and it's a flat out F*** you Sony. It was basically a public alliance with M$. I might very well be changing sides in the console wars unless Sony pulls off something amazing tomorrow.
As I said though, take what I say the next few days with a grain of salt...this is more blind instant fury than warranted anger.
More than anything though...I'm disappointed with Sony. This is the single exclusive I never though Sony would lose...and if they can't keep it, it greatly worries me.
dukebd: I agree and disagree. The install base in the US is larger. However, I believe the RPG gamer base is bigger in all parts of the world with the PS3. Most of the people I know that only own 360 that were throwing it in my face today don't even plan on buying the game...they are just happy they can say they are getting it. Which is understandable...I'm more disappointed with Sony than anyone else.
Symphony: That's the other thing that worries me. Sure I'm mad because before today, I was a biased PS3 fanboy despite the fact I own multiple systems...
However, a game becoming multiplat, above all else, means that the quality of the game will fall. I'd hate a series as legendary as Final Fantasy to meet a sticky end because SE got greedy.
hazelnutman: Honestly...I think SE would have to announce FFVII remake, KH3 and show some awesome GOW3 footage to counter this. But honestly...who can say those will even be exclusives?...
Matt-4542: Yeah it was big. And as soon as he coming out...I had a friend over and when he said we have one more announcement...I was like oh s*** please no, please god NO. And sure enough...it was FFXIII. My friend and I were horrorstruck. I applaud M$ for knowing what they need to do and getting the job done though. Something Sony needs to learn a bit more.

You have to calm down a little, because:
1) FFXIII is going to be in PS3 after all in Blu-ray!, personally I dont think that the 360 version is going to be as good as the PS3 one.
2) If you own both consoles, whats the point in being so mad whatsoever?

Yeah, that does kind of suck as FFXIII was one of the two reasons I bought a PS3, you can probably guess the other. I wouldn't jump to too many conclusions yet though. I know of a small army of people who have completely disowned the 360 and are even rebuying all their games for the PS3 because they are tired of the technical problems with the 360. This news does hurt sony, but it won't destroy it. Based on specs alone, the PS3 is still the best system.
And I concur, Fallout 3 looks amazing. This is easily the game I'm looking forward to the most this year, with the second probably being Fable 2

N-REAL: After seeing Sony's conference today, I am calmed down. Sure they had no earth-shaking announcements like FFXIII going to 360, but let's take a larger look. 360 showcased a few games, however, more than 50% were multiplat.
They showed Resident Evil 5 (multiplat), Gears of War 2 (exclusive), Fallout 3 (multiplat), Fable II (exclusive) and FFXIII (mutliplat).
Sony had a great array of games:
LBP, Resistance 2, Massive Action Game, DC Universe, God of War III and Infamous, along with the multiplats like Fallout 3 and Resident Evil 5 and FFXIII. Sorry for my overreaction everyone, just a result of my love for SE, specifically FF.
BTW, my PSN is FFF4N4T1C. Add me! ha.
