Well I thought I would write another blog since I picked up a new game the other day. I have had my eye on this game since the early days of PS3, and finally decided to splurge on Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. I didn't want the GOTY edition for two reasons:

1. Too expensive.

2. I didn't know if I would like the game, so why spend that much money on it?

So I ended up searching around for the classic Oblivion and finally found it.

I actually found it used with everything in perfect condition for $24, and I used a friend's discount so I actually got it for under $20, and am very pleased with so far. It seems like an incredible game. The first immediate thing that I noticed was just how MASSIVE this game is. There is SO much to do. I'm having a trouble getting a hang of it all, but then again I've only put about 4 hours into it and haven't made much progress.

I've already gotten myself involved in many sidequests and as I said I do like the game. I've been hoping for a good jRPG, and actually chose between this and Eternal Sonata...funny that I chose the western RPG of the two.

The only thing that annoys me about this game is the annoying watchers. I feel like I'm always getting sent off to jail and it gets annoying, especially when I'm not trying to do anything wrong.

I'm surprised I like this game as much as I do. It's literally an MMORPG..with the MM. I think this game would be a lot more fun if you could play with a few of your friends, even if it wasn't massively multiplayer...perhaps 2-8 friends or something?

I'll probably post more of my impressions about this game once I put about a dozen hours into it.

Also...I was looking through my old Playstation/Playstation 2 collection for some good RPGs to play and I picked out Lunar 2: Eternal Blue to play.

I remember having a fun time with this game back in the day but forgot just about all of the story. I've only played the very beginning of it so far, but I must say it was rather comical . I'll post more as I get further into this game as well.

So how is everyone doing? Anyone having problems with new firmware updates? I must say that the other day my friends list was err...malfunctioning. I don't know how else to explain it.

Oblivion is a DOMINANT game. Definitely better than Eternal Sonata. You made the right choice

Oblivion doesn't sound like my sort of game since the story and music was said not to be there, but at least you're enjoying it for the 4 hours you did.

I've never played Lunar so I'm out of the loop for that alltogether.

Man, Oblivion was personally a let down for me, (prolly cuz I don't like Western RPGS ) so I would have picked Eternal Sonata

But enjoy it, cuz there are some really cool parts in there

Blace: I really like it so far even though it's really overwhelming so far. I'm also not sure yet how big of an effect my decisions are going ot have on my future in the game - guilds, etc.

SymphonyCometh: Ha, yeah it would be nice if they had a more constant stream of great music throughout. Would definately help the gameplay out a bit.

hazelnutman: Yeah, I'm more of a fan of jRPGs too, but I decided to give Oblivion a try because it was cheap and I really like MMOs like WoW. Oblivion is pretty much the same thing with no other players ha. I'm just confused about a lot of the system still.

I liked it but I got lossed alot of times because it is so massive!

i hope you still enjoy lunar this time through. I've only payed the silver star story from the lunar series, but it was pretty fun.

Bone: Yeah it's extremely huge...

N8A: I have been looking for an old-school RPG to play so I'm hoping Lunar 2 will satisfy that. The graphics are pretty horrid though compared to today's games.

Oblivion is a great game. I loved how convenient it made to explore the massive world set before you. Eventually dungeons will start to look the same and others things will become a bit repetitive as well, but the convenience made it easy for me to pick up and play. I also forgot all about the story in Lunar 2 even though I played it, it must not have been that impactful . I plan on playing the first game, Silver Star Story, at some point, hopefully it is as charming as everybody makes it sound.

DraconigenaDeus: Ha, yeah I'm enjoying Oblivion -- parts of it can get somewhat stressful though...such as how I have a hard time killing fish...

Otherwise the world is really interesting to explore but as I've said INCREDIBLY huge. Traveling is convenient though and it's pretty enjoyable. I rather doubt I will make it through Lunar 2. The graphics aren't doing it for me ATM.

Say goodbye to life cause this game is awesome. I had it for my 360 talk about non stop playing, I loved it.

Oblivion is a very good game indeed! Probably my favourite WRPG, along with Diablo II. I haven't played Eternal Sonatat, but I assume it ain't as good as Oblivion.

Hmmmm, well let's see, MGSIV, Crisis Core, DMC4, Lost Odyssey, and then...Lunar 2. I can see why the graphics would look dated , they looked dated soon as they came out. The only reason I'm planning on playing Silver Star Story is because I learned how to get it on my PSP. And that added convenience will make it much easier to play .

Prisoner1137: Haha yeah it really is fun and with so many things to do.

ShadowLaguna: It's actually probably the only real western RPG I've played besides MMOs.

DraconigenaDeus: Haha yeah, the graphics are veryyyy dated. I originally had my PSP set up with lots of Playstation games as well but then I updated the firmware one day so I could try out Remote Play.

Good find for Oblivion. I'm still on the fence if I actually want to play it, but Fallout 3 is coming out this year so I guess I'll just wait.

Strife88: Yeah I'll be picking up Fallout 3 as well. I just figured I couldn't go wrong with a game that got such great ratings and was so cheap. I'm addicted to it now .
