On March 13, 2009. Resident Evil 5 arrived in stores. I pre-order my copy so I just went down to Game Stop. Plunked down my $60 and walked out. When I played this game I couldn't get enough! The whole 2 player co-op is a blast. I honestly thought that the CPU would be kind of dumb but Sheva (by default) works very well! When I downloaded the demo. She was kind of stupid. Which was kind of turning me off to the game. I mean, don't get me wrong. I was still going to buy it no matter what. I am a huge RE fan! But when the guy with the chainsaw started to chase us. For some reason Sheva was running head first in to the dude. Thus losing her head. However, when I finally got my copy I was thrilled that this wasn't the case. Playing online with a friend or a complete stranger is cool too but you really need a headset. Makes thing a hell of a lot easier.

The story line is great and follows the RE mythology very well. Though I miss the zombies since RE 3 it's still cool with those crazy eyed Kijuju trying to rip your head off. They did do the whole 2 player thing in RE 4 sort of. There where two health bars you had to keep track of. Leon's and Ashley's. But Ashley was more of a support character then an actual partner that Sheva is in RE 5. There was one time that you controlled Ashley in RE 4 but it was more like a survival scavenger hunt then anything else. But hey RE 4 still rocks as so does 5.

Later on, CAPCOM released the VERSUS mode via DLC. However it is widely rumored that this mode was actually suppose to come out with the game at launch but CAPCOM said that it wasn't ready yet. While others claim that they held it back to make more money off of RE fans. Whatever that case is? I leave it up to you. This mode is very much fun to play. Especially with your friends. There are two modes of play that you can either do as a co-op or on your own. First there is SURVIVOR mode which is a death match mode. You score points buy hitting the other opponents with different weapons, and big points if you finish them off. The person or team with the highest score wins. The other mode is SLAYERS. This is IMO is the most fun out of the two, Here you have to kill as many Kijuju as you can! The person or team with the most points wins! The cool thing is this mode encourages you to go after the bigger, tougher boss-like enemies because they will give you the most points! You get big points if you kill a chicken too! LMAO!

The only thing I don't understand is you can kill your opponents in Slayers as you do in Survivors. What's the point? Sure you get 1,000 points if you kill an opponent in slayers but the real points are in killing the Kijuju.
So it's not really worth it. There is an unwritten rule when you play online in Slayers mode that if you mind your business and kill Kijuju and not your opponent then they will do the same. Though you do have those gamers that don't give a rats ass about other players and just kill them for the hell of it (& points) when it's really not necessary. I wish CAPCOM can put a patch on this to at least give the HOST of the match the choice to disable killing other players in Slayers mode. I just don't see the reason behind this inclusion of killing your opponents in this mode.

In all. It's still cool to play and I am still playing this game 4 months after release! Pick this one up! Though one thing. Jill looks cool blonde and all but I do think she was more sexier in that short, brunette hair that she had in RE 3. But that's just me. ^_^
