In an unexpected turn of events I was given the opportunity to make some extra money yesterday. As a window cleaner I am frequently presented with side jobs here and there. As I finished the second to last window on the 11th floor of an office building located on 5th avenue, I witnessed an explosion of sorts. the previous street was crowded with cars and as the light turned green, all of them raced down the street. This is the average scene at downtown Manhattan daily, but on this day as the vehicles cruised down the street, one car veered off of the road, rolled onto the sidewalk and smashed into a Subway's restaurant located on the corner. No matter how high up i was on the building the sound of the crash echoed into my ears as if i had been a few feet away from the accident. By the time i found my way down the elevator and onto the scene... 5 fire trucks, 3 ambulances, 2 police cars, and what seemed to be dozens of officers filled the streets. As i maneuvered my way through the crowds i found the doorman on the corner and he explained that the driver of the vehicle had suffered a heart attack and lost complete control of his car. I believe he was put into one of the ambulances but i didn't actually see him. There was a woman in the car which had been removed from the store and parked in front. She was being treated by paramedics. Of course this incident would make anyone start questioning life and wondering how easy it can be for it to be all over. Leaving all depressing thoughts aside, i choose to instead think about how funny it is a way that people dread death daily but run towards an accident for a glimpse of it first hand.
Now that all of the horrible stuff is out of the way i can move onto exciting good news like the nite i had yesterday! As i got home last nite i noticed climbing the steps that my usually quiet unoccupied room was now full with the noise of laughter and taunting that could only derive from my brother and his friends experience with SSBB! I scurried to my bed, grabbed my classic controller and joined the battle. For the next 7 hours my world consisted of Domino's pizzas, liters of Sprite, and Brawlin' with a vast number of competitors. I had noticed that the time was flying by when my brother told me that his friends were sleeping over. Brawl is the greatest game to play among friends. Even though I didn't have a high win percentage it was still one of the greatest gaming nights of all time!
