Officially over. Sort of. It won't *really* be over until I am all packed up and back home (tomorrow afternoon). Oh, and until I get my grades back(somewhere around June 20th).
And then I can breathe a sigh of relief.

Hangovers make you hate yourself.

Last night I picked up my little retro GBA sp. I am ashamed to admit that it has been quite a while since I have gingerly fondeled my portable gaming unit.
Don't get me wrong. I love the little bugger. It's really compact. So compact in fact, that I have been known to carry it in my purse, and every once in a while, in my pocket. I really like it's retro style because it tickles the fluttering butterflies in my stomach as I smile and remember "the good ol' days" of playing the original Nintendo with my cousins.
On the flipside, I'm not really a fan of the whole "needing to turn on the backlight in order to see what I'm playing" deal. No, sir. Especially because my eyes aren't the best - blessed with nearsightedness, amblyopia and an astigmatism in one eye. All of which lead me to need glasses when playing games, sitting in class, and driving. Oh yay! Back to where I was going with this.
My parents, in all of their awesomeness, bought me Fire Emblem for Christmas this year. See, I spent a good portion of the summer working my way through it on a borrowed game, but when the borrower stole it back, I was clearly SOL. I thought if I wrote it down on my Christmas list, that I might have another shot at satisfying the itch to finish it, or to just start my very own game (with my name and everything!). I have never really played a game quite like it before so I was amused by the characters, midi-like music, cute graphics, and the storyline. Not exactly happy with having to play through an entire chapter after I lost someone in my party, though. I know, it's a personal, but very anal retentive choice I make. Anyway, I played Fire Emblem nonstop after I got it for Christmas. I would stay up late at night working on my game until early in the morning - until I couldn't possibley bear to keep my eyes open any longer. Then, after I would wake up, it would be the first thing I went to grab in the morning. Even before my coffee!
BAM! Almost more quickly than you can hit the on button, I had to go back to school. Winter quarter starts at the beginning of January, and as I have mentioned before, Winter Quarter really, really sucks. I think it's the worst quarter of the year, personally. But, I figured that I would bring my GBA with me back to school in case I need stress relief and find some time here and there to play more. Or not!?!?!?
I hardly had any time for anything. I didn't play one single solitary second of Fire Emblem last quarter. And it was a damned shame. I guess the only thing that made up for it was getting straight A's.
As of late, Chapter 12 has really been calling my name. "OH Heather! Please replay me! Kick my ass!" I even hear it calling to me in my sleep.
Last night I totally caved. I took my GBA out of the back of my drawer and looked at it. It was then that I realized how much I *didn't* want to have to spend thirty minutes working on one chapter just to get to the end and get my ass beat. I sighed and realized I had Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time sitting right next to it.
I changed cartridges and switched the power button to on in the first time in months.
I want to start by saying that I think I'm out of my damned mind. The last time I played PoP, I quit at the part where he partners up with that chick. I really didn't like that part. I mean, I really didn't like it. Why? I don't know. I know that one could argue that it adds depth, but frankly, I think it's annoying. Get him to go here, switch, get her to move a bit, rinse, repeat. Whatever. I was over it. So last night I played for a bit and then quit again, realizing that I was just in the mood for a quick shoot 'em up or race around the track type of game.
Or Tetris. Oh yes. I hope I brought Tetris up from home. And I just thought of that. Oh sweet lord I know what I'm doing now!
*runs off to rummage through drawers frantically until her lavish desires are satisfied!*

Some people just don't have opinions. Like ElektraNatchios.
ElektraNatchios must really love MovieTome and agree with every review we've ever written! What other reason could ElektraNatchios possibly have for not rating a single film?
